“nice hotel and friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

We stayed 1 night in this nice hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter in Hanoi. The staff was particularly friendly and helpful. They helped us in everything we needed. They organised for us a 2 night cruise in Halong Bay with the Calypso Cruise and it was really nice experience. While we were cruising the hotel kept our extra luggage for us and when we came back from the cruise they allow us to have an extra shower before to catch our train. The position of the hotel is perfect to visit all the main attractions of Hanoi.

My husband and I stayed for one night only yet we were treated like we were staying at a 5 star hotel for a week. In fact we've stayed at 5 star hotels and the service at Art Hotel was better! We arrived at midday Friday and inquired about water puppet tickets for that evening's show. We thought the receptionist would call the theatre or check the website but instead they sent one of their staff to collect tickets for us at the theatre and had them ready at reception for us to collect when we returned to the hotel from our afternoon walk. We checked out the following morning at 7.30am (staying less than 24 hrs at the hotel) as we were heading off to Ha Long bay for the night and returning to Hanoi the following afternoon to take the night train to Sapa. When staff realised we were returning to Hanoi at 4pm (after Ha Long) and our train wasn't until 8pm they suggested we return to their hotel to take a shower and freshen up before our evening train. After freshening up they offered to take us to the train station to ensure we swapped our vouchers and boarded the correct train as we were a little confused as we had purchased vouchers instead of tickets. All this and we stayed less than 24hrs. Best service ever! Staff were exceptionally professional, friendly, personal and thoughtful. Amazing.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We have a free upgrade on the last night because we told them our room fridge was smelly. Breakfast was very good as there are many variety to chose from western to local food.

We only stayed a couple of nights but this was a really great little hotel in a convenient location. We arrived on a very busy day in Hanoi (General Giap's funeral) so there was a slight delay getting picked up at the airport. However the staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good considering the size of the hotel. We were even able to come back to the hotel to freshen up the following week after we got the overnight train to Hanoi from Sapa.
Thank you so much to Kris, Su and all the staff. Would recommend your hotel to any of our friends.

Room Tip: We had initially booked a room at the front but thankfully took the staff's advice and took one...

We are back in Hanoi for our fourth stay at the award winning Art Boutique Hotel (formerly the Art Hotel) in Hang Dieu Street on the (quiet) edge of the Old Quarter. It remains our firm favourite hotel in Hanoi with great service, lovely rooms and comfortable beds. I had one night in a single room about two weeks ago and it was perfectly fine for one person. Now we are in a suite on the top floor which is more expensive than most rooms in the hotel but has more space including a large balcony. Staff are very helpful and the Wifi is excellent - strongly recommended!

Room Tip: Get a large room it is worth the extra cost!

We stayed here just for one night and had barely any time in Hanoi (arrived late and left early) but it was so nice to be staying in such a nice hotel with such helpful staff. They organised our taxi from the airport and then another the next morning to the bus station and had bought our bus tickets in advance. Highly recommend!

This hotel is amazing. It has a great location, the rooms are fully equipped. They even have a lap top for our use in them. They are also quiet, I had a room facing the street. Breakfast is extensive. I don’t know how many items are on the menu, and range from eggs to noodles.
The best part of the hotel is the staff. Wow. They are always there to help. Check in is amazing, they greet you as you get out of the car. They show you how everything works in the room. They even know your name. At breakfast they are there to help you plan your day, if you want help. I had been trying to get a haircut and beard trim, it had not gone well. I mentioned it, almost joking at the desk, The young man said to come with him, took me to a Barber, told them what I wanted. WOW, WOW. I stay 60 nights at hotels a year, all over the world, this hotel was the best. Hilton should send their staff here to be trained.

Room Tip: I liked the street view
