Excellent location, very nice and helpful staff. The breakfast was simple but good. For someone looking for cheap and good hotel, this is the one! I really recommend this hostel, specially for families.

We stayed at Hanoi City Hostel in a triple room for 2 nights in early March. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom even had a bath (we were very excited by this as it seems to be a rare find in the hostels we've stayed in!) It felt a little chilly and damp but it didn't bother us much as all of the places we stayed in Northern Vietnam were like this. It seems that it is widespread at this time of year.

The staff at Hanoi City Hostel were among the most friendly and helpful that I've encountered over the last 6 months and they made our stay so much easier. From changing our dates, party size, number of nights, giving directions, booking tours and taxis, recommending restaurants to lending umbrellas, nothing was too much trouble and it was all done with a smile. They even let me store my bag there and use the internet when I returned from Cat Ba Island even though I wasn't staying there and was taking a bus out of town that night.

The location was also good and the rates reasonable. Would stay again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, all the staff are very kind and do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible (such as helping plan trips, drawing maps to the local sights and booking taxis for you to avoid being ripped off). The room was huge, very clean and had a bathtub - which after 2 months travelling in hotels without one was a luxury! The room seems very Victorian and it really felt like we were back in London. The price was really good, the room had aircon, TV, fridge, and the bathtub!! We will stay here again when we visit Hanoi next time. Thank you to the staff! :)

Miss Moon, the owner, is so kind. We checked in at Kangaroo Hostel, she owns it too, but the room was cold and really wet! So she provides us another room in Hanoi City Hostel and it was a great stay. Clean, cheap and central, good breakfast included in the room rate!all the receptionists are nice and helpful. Nice stay :D I recommend this place.

I stayed during 3 days in this hotel and it was just perfect.
The room is clean with a big bed, a nice decoration and QUIET !!
And if you need any information about Hanoi or about if you need any train, bus or plane ticket you don't have to do anything because Hannah, Moon and Buôn are every time at the reception with a big smile ever in any circumstance.

SO, JUST BOOK THIS HOTEL AND ENYOYED

U won't regret it, clean rooms arranged airport transfer and arrived at 0900 hrs and were straight into clean rooms as soon as they were ready. Hannah was really helpful in discussing places to visit and booked our sleeper train for us with no hassles. Definitely recommended if u want a clean place to stay with friendly and helpful English speaking staff

The hotel located in the old quarter is terrific for the price. The staff helps everyone with places to go and gives you warings about who or what service to avoid. They planned trips to Ha Long Bay and Sapa for me and they worked out fine. Breakfast is simple but hot and fresh. I've stayed in two fo the rooms and they were both very clean. I will return to this hostel.

Room Tip: In the old quarter you are going to hear horns honking in almost every room at every hostel. I slept...
