“Mostly good, some annoyances though”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon, the 'suite' wasn't great but there was a nice friendly welcome + good airport pickup service.

The staffs friendliness was over the top in our opinions, take it down a few notches and it will be lots more credible!

Like any hotel they will try to book you tickets, tours etc., while it's better (in my opinion) to do this yourself, so you have a choice. The prices they offer aren't even that bad (I've seen far worse) but for example it's still about $10 cheaper per trainticket if you just get your them at the trainstation (for the exact same level of comfort).

The beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and are serviced every day. There was a fair amount of noise going on during the night which kept us awake at times. Aircon works well. WIFI has good coverage.

Bummer we came back from a long sweaty journey, having booked our final night with them 2 weeks in advance, and we were told there's no room left for us (?!) They let another couple stay for an extra night, while we were shuffled off to another place with some lame excuse that this was an "even better place to stay, and that is was much better value, almost 3 stars", etc. Shouldn't have bothered lying about this, just admit their mistake, because while the other place was quite okay it was just a simple ho(s)tel, at the exact same price.
So that was a bit of a bad ending to an otherwise okay experience. They should've told the other people to go elsewhere.

The Tu Linh 2 hotel is right in the thick of the old quarter making it an ideal jumping off spot for pretty much anything you'd want to do including bars and food. My wife and I were able to walk everywhere including Hoa Lo Prison, Women's Museum, and Temple of Literature no problem. We booked through Agoda and got a basic room with no window for $13/night, a great deal. That included a free breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon or hotdog, fruit (incld pineapple, watermelon), fresh baguette, and tea coffee or water. Good in my opinion esp. for 13$. The staff was on top of things and very friendly, never did they try and sell us anything we didn't want. Room came with toiletries including soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc...which was nice. The rooms were a tad small but it is a B&B and I expected this. Manager helped us book a cab to the airport for $12, usually costs $15 from here but saves you the hassle of making sure they use meter etc... I would def. stay again for the price.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and get a window. Not having the sunlight helps you sleep in and it blocks out the s...

I was satisfied with the room and services. Staffs are very friendly. Hotel is very near to hoan kiem lake and shopping street. Overall, it was worth for the price. The only thing need to be improved is the communication between staffs. I have paid off my bill upon my arrival, when I travel back from Sapa, the other staff request me to pay my bill. Luckily I still keep my receipt as a proof.

In short - great!

Manager of the hotel super nice, all personel great and speaking good english. Nothing was a problem to them.

- Rooms are very clean although some (standard ones) are without windows - just ask or take a look at the room first. There is a minibar too :)

- Internet was working quite ok in our room and without any problems in the reception and the dinning room downstairs

- Breakfast is very good

- Laundry service is great and fast

- You can ask to book tickets/trips at the reception, reasonably priced ;)

- Location is great - everything is close: lake, backpackers, bars

- SERVICE IS AWESOME!

I would definietely reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in Hanoi!
