I spent 3 weeks there for business and alone. The Hotel is at the center of Hanoi, my room was comfortable, clean with an efficient wifi. The staff is a young dynamic team, really carefully and available, I received lot of assistance from them. When i will come back to Hanoi i will go to this hotel again :)

We visited Hanoi in the group from Japan and stayed at this hotel for several days.
All their staff attended us very carefully and kindly.
The location of the hotel is also nice for both traveling and doing business.
There were some minor problem in some furniture when we stayed, but (according to my friend who lives in Hanoi,) it remodels these days and has improved enough.

We arrived from Hong Kong the day after we should have done having missed our connection but we were not charged for this. The hotel booked a trip to Halong Bay for us and were able to leave our bags at the hotel overnight. They also booked our onward train journey to Hue plus a pick-up from the airport on arrival and all these arrangements went without a hitch, The hotel is right in the middle of the old town so lots going on outside. But there was no noise in our room.
It is easy to get everywhere from the hotel - well situated. There was a computer in our room which didn't work but there were two other computers to use in reception so that wasn't a problem. Room spacious and clean. The breakfast was very basic but enough to get you started for the day. The only downside was that the hotel was on the first floor so it meant climbing a flight of stairs. From reception there was a lift to the upper floors. If you are wondering what currency to take to Vietnam don't bother with travellers cheques. We found it difficult to find a bank that would cash them. There are ATMs everywhere so go with a card and a few US dollars. Can't thank Nhung enough for all her help. Good luck with the baby!

Stayed four nights at Hanoi Old Town Hotel mid April. The location in the old town was good.close to the weekend night market and just around the corner from the big day market.its a 10 minute walk to the lake and 20 minutes to the Cathederal. The old quarter bustles with lots of action and interesting old buildings. This hotel has friendly and helpful staff Thuong and Nhung at reception were very helpful in suggesting places to visit and in organising taxis from the hotel.(taxis are very cheap and the company they recommended were very honest in direct transfers.) the rooms were clean ,airconditioning quiet, bathrooms with shower good stayed in room 401 at the front of the hotel large double bed but a smaller room than others on my return stayed in room 202 which was more spacious ..both rooms at the front of the building which is subject to some street noise but for me to take in some of this street action was ok...
Note that there are stairs to the first floor reception then a lift to all other five floors including the resteraunt on the fifth floor.Breakfast was Ok but don't expect a full engish breakfast you get enough to start your day with coffee or tea.
Booked a Halong Bay three day two night thru the hotel ...On the" Imperial Junk Cruise" which I could recomend as a meduim price cruise run by Vietnam Open Tours ..the room on the boat was good clean with good hot water for the shower a large window and comfortable bed.the staff on the boat were helpful and efficent.. 3 days and two nights was just perfect...I stayed two nights on the Imperial Junk and didn't spend a night at Catba island (which some didnt enjoy)
Overall I would recomend this hotel and their friendly staff if you want to stay in the old part of
Hanoi.with a budget price .
Ps A forty minute wait in line to visit the Ho Chi Minh mausoulem was an interesting experience!

This was a great hotel in the heart of busy Hanoi. My friend and I used this hotel as a base for our two and a half week adventure in the north of Vietnam. We returned three times to the hotel and were always greeted with a smile. We were able to leave our main luggage at the hotel while we did a variety of tours. The management and staff were most helpful in organizing pick up's and transfer's no matter what time of morning or night. The rooms were spacious and clean.

From 3rd floor window and in the safety of my room, one can see the real old Hanoi going about its daily activities, traffic that goes along to make a nice mix of colors and sounds. The noise usually tapers towards 10 p.m. only to return with the rising of the sun. For those who don't want to see or hear the action, you might want to request a room at the back portion of the tall building. The hotel is accessed from its narrow entrance up a flight of stairs but helpful staff on the ground floor always on the outlook for arriving guests and to help them up.
The rooms are very clean and large, WiFi connection is good, and the staff is courteous. Front desk staff can speak good English mixed with some hand gestures at times. At the time of my stay I requested for a late checkout which they graciously granted as there were spare rooms available. Another plus is the availability of a hotel home page and the convenience of online reservations (directly with them, and not through any agency). The management understands the needs of budget travelers. It's not surprising that they get good testimonials and repeat visitors. I would not hesitate to stay here again or refer my friends to this hotel.
The best points for this hotel -- excellent location, good service and rooms, value for money.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms at the rear portion but you will miss the color and sounds from your hotel window. Ele...

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

From check in on the first day to check out was one if not the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

Very friendly staff and management that went well above the call to make us have an amazing time in Hanoi.

The location is excellent with everything right at your door step.

We booked to ha long bay and train to sapa and flights onwards from Vietnam. So professional and gave open advise, a bit of a change from a lot of tour companies that try to push you to buy what they want not what you actually want to do.

So, all I can say is.... Do your trip a favor and stay in this hotel. It made Hanoi for us!
