This is an excellent hotel situated just a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, and the Water Puppet Theatre and its bustling surroundings. The rooms are very well appointed, and we found all the staff, without exception, to be very pleasant and helpful.
When we made our booking we asked, as we usually do, for a non-smoking room as high as possible. Fortunately, we were allocated a very nice room on the 7th Floor with a good view across the city, with Hoan Kiem Lake in the background. The room was very comfortable and, being fairly high up, we were completely untroubled by traffic noise.
We had one minor problem with our room mini-safe, which was immediately and satisfactorily rectified. Apart from this we had no other problem of any kind.
We initially stayed for 3 nights before going on an overnight trip to Halong Bay. We then returned for a further 2 nights. Although we checked out after our first stay, our main luggage was stored free of charge and, following our request, we were very pleased to be allocated the same room for the second part of our stay.
We dined in the small hotel dining room on a couple of occasions, and we had excellent meals both times. The only downside was a lack of atmosphere caused by the fact that we were the only diners on one occasion, and one of only two couples on the other. This, plus the TV which was situated in one corner of the small room, and switched on all the time we were there, detracted from the ambience somewhat. However, these weren't major issues for us because, on both occasions, we were eating in the hotel for convenience after a long and tiring day, so the atmosphere wasn't our main consideration. Also, the dining room was very attractive, and the wait-staff were very pleasant and attentive. We also enjoyed our breakfasts in the top-floor dining room. and, here again, we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We do agree with one or two other reviewers that western-style breakfast food choices were a bit limited, but we also found this to be the case at other hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia that we subsequently stayed in. Overall, we were very satisfied with the food in this hotel and we have no complaints, especially when you consider that the breakfast cost was included in the room rate.
Based on our experience we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others, and we will definitely stay there again during our next visit to Hanoi.

There are so many other hotels of this price range in Hotel that you really can not say anything else than that is average. Even though they have a great panorama restaurant at top and that some of the rooms have great view and comfort. Partly because it's just chance if you get a room with a view or not. If you are out look you will get a room with no view at all.
The location is good though, but the personell not that great.
My first day the put some ones elses laundry in my room (I had not even left any laundry). And the other day when I actually left laundry they forgot to show up with it.
Breakfeast is really disappointing. So many other hotels does that better.
But like everything else: Its average.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floors and room with a view of the lake.

We stayed for three nights, separated by one in Halong Bay.

The hotel ( like most in Hanoi) is very narrow. This does restrict space in communual areas, particularly the tenth floor restuarant when it is busy. It also means that several rooms have no or very small windows. Our first room actually did have a window blind but when it was raised, revealed an alcove with a window in it that opened 2 inches. Strange. We were moved on our third night to a room with a window overlooking the street, and given a bottle of wine and bowl of fruit as "compenaation". This was totally unexpected and ubnasked for but shows the very good level of service at the hotel.

The rooms and the hotel itself are of a very good standard of fittings and with excellent showerss and air con. Very comfortable beds.

Breakfast was fairly restricted compared to most hotels we stayed in in Vietnam, but did the job. Entertaining to se Vietamese guests coe down (or up) for breakfast in their jim-jams and fill plastic bags with food for their families. That's part of the fun of this fabulous country. You're not in Kansas anymore, as they say.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the Old Quarter, one of the most vibrant and apparently chaotic places we have seen. We loved it. Also close to the lake and puppet theatre. And anywhere in Hanoi you step into the streets, where life never stops: crossing the road in itself is an experience, but you'll get the hang of it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large window, usually at the back or front of the hotel. Unless you don't...

Not much facilities at this hotel, which is rather disappointing, considering the price you are paying. Excellent staff service made up for the disappointment. Fivimart (mini supermarket) is around 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast is just average, considering the price that you are paying for. Also, you can book a taxi (MPV) from the front desk but it will cost USD20. Private hotel taxi will cost USD22. A little bit expensive in my opinion, as you can book a similar taxi for only USD16.

Great view of the city from the restaurant which is located on the highest floor of the hotel, but is only limited to 3 tables.

And you can't lock the toilet door, something that I would like to emphasis especially for non couples. Toilet is spacious but without a bathtub. No windows in the room too. The room that I stayed in was the Superior type. Nice hotel all in all, but no strong reason that makes me want to come back.

Thank you very much for your good words for our staff, our location.
Because it the high tourist season, so all the hotels in Hanoi are fully booked with the higher rate also.
Relating to Superior Rooms, we have only several rooms inside the hotel, we can not open the window because of hard-minded neighbors and the governments also. But we guarantee that 85% of our rooms are accommodated with window.
For the taxi cost, if you book taxi from any hotel, it is nearly the same price with our hotel. Because if you book outside, you encounter with rip-off, overcharge, time delay.....but all the hotels in Vietnam, they help the guests to book airport taxi and guarantee the quality, the time...Even if you are late for flights, we have to compensate for that also.So the rates are different. And the private cars are different also.
We really hope that you will have one more chance to host you.
Best regards
Luan

Place was good, nice and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and quite, furnished with Vietnamese touch. Breakfast was far below the rest with limited selection and low quality food.
Book a transfer to airport with them but the car was late half hour and i almost missed my flight ...

Stayed here for 3 week business trip in Feb/March 2013. Excellent location. Booked a de luxe suite which was simply furnished but immaculately clean. Lovely walk -in shower and separate bath. Free wifi worked very well. Staff very friendly and helpful without being over powering as I have experienced elsewhere in Hanoi. Excellent Indian restaurant, "Khazaan", next door.

I agree with earlier review that breakfast was just about adequate but would benefit from wider range of western fare and the so-called orange juice was awful. But I would certainly stay here again as overall it represents excellent value for money.
