Getting across the road was an experience but they all seem to be so relaxed and not stressing whilst navigating the toad system

“crazy town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

The Old Quarter is quite amazing and is a 'must' for any tourist's . Full of shops selling anything from meat to live birds to Chinese medicines. The smells, sights and sounds have to be seen to be believed and certainly should not be avoided in your trip to Hanoi. Navigating the narrow streets are a challenge considering the number of scooters and bikes but the best way is just to throw caution to the wind and step off the footpath and hope for the best, first time is scary but then it becomes second nature.

First , should careful with the traffic , second careful with seller on the street , thirdly always carry map with hotel card in case you get lose. Then you can get safety way to explore old warter. We love to have local food on the street and sit on the tiny chair. People were very friendly , especially are the kid . We gave them some candies and play the football on the street with them.
This was my first time but everything made me will remember about the wonderful Hanoian people and their friendly.

“Interesting, buzzing... dangerous”

Great place to explore, eat, drink and experience real Hanoi. Doesn't take long, however, to lose your patience with the insane moped driving.

“Don't miss the hustle and bustle!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014

The Old Quarter is simply quite amazing and is surely a 'must' on any tourist's list. Full of small shops selling anything from meat to live birds to household paraphernalia to Chinese medicines. The smells, sights and sounds have to be seen to be believed and certainly should not be avoided in your trip to Hanoi. A glimpse of the past, in many ways. The shops teaming with beautiful red lanterns were a particular favourite.
