Just loved walking the streets, fun shopping and good restaurants. Loved sitting by the lake and watching life go by also great way to start the day- a quick couple of circuits. .

“I love the craziness”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

You need to spend a couple of hours in the Old Quarter just getting lost down its streets. It is so fun to see the stores, restaurants, and people of Hanoi. Just beware of the traffic, motor bikes and cars are weaving in and out of traffic. There are a lot of souvenir shops but other really cool shops through out the area. I stayed in the Old Quarter and spent an afternoon just wandering up and down the streets. I would come to an intersection and decide to walk down one street and then turn down another. It is really cool to see the buildings and just watch the people. It is pretty loud, there is a lot of honking of horns by motor bikes and cars. Also a lot of people ask you if you want a ride somewhere. Just ignore them or say no they usually leave you alone. Great cultural experience.

“Beautiful but expensive”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Hanoi old quater is beautiful street in the center of the capital but everythings is expensive here. Forexample, I have bought a sandal in Hang Dau street, it cost 10$ while it's real price is only 5$. Or a bowl of "Pho Bo" costs 40.000 dong when it is only 25.000 when eating outside the ancient street. The advice: bargaining and ask the price before requesting it!
