“Ah the smell!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

Super little temple that looks and smells exactly like you imagine a little temple to look and smell like. Beautiful architecture, ornate carving and decoration and a shed load of joss-sticks for that traditional feel. Wonderful place to relax for a half hour before heading on.

“Good things come in small packages”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We enjoyed our short trip to this small, but peaceful temple. The place as virtually empty, making it a restful haven in crazy Hanoi. Be sure to go into the various buildings to see some the ornate items on display. A local told us that this temple is one of the best examples of what a "standard" Vietnamese temple is like.

“A peaceful oasis”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Situated on a busy intersection near the beautiful Ho Tay Lake, this Taoist temple is a wonderfully peaceful place to visit. The inside has the usual explosion of colour & ornateness overlayed with the redolent smell of incense found in all temples. I loved the offerings to the gods on the altars, such as a case of beer, fruits, sweets etc. There was a constant stream of people putting money into the offerings bowl & quickly praying before moving on, which made it feel a very lively place of worship. There is a display case of antiquities & a craft shop outside. Well worth a visit.

“Small temple but nice architecture”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Although it is a small and simple temple, you can see so nice and traditional architecture. If you are spellbound of traditional temple architecture, don't miss it. There are some precious item.

It is by the side of Ho Tay (Western Lake), therefore you can combine with your visit to the lake. If just take photos, only 10 minutes is enough. But if for a admiring architecture, I think it takes double time.
