Owner description: Ho Chi Minh opted to live in this modest wooden house rather than the opulent Presidential Palace.

Interesting to see how he lived! I guess when you are the boss you get the nice things, the poor will just be poor, but that's ok, they are out there and I am in here.

HO Chi Min saw himself as a man of the people, hence him living in his 'stick house' rather than the Presidential Palace. It is in the Botanical gardens, but you can only visit the area around his home. Worth seeing though.

Interesting and worth spending some time here to get some sense of what went on here and some fine artefacts and history about Ho Chi Minh's background.

Too crowded to be enjoyable. You join one long conveyor belt of tourists if you come here and may suffer the added chaos of large loud school groups. The most photogenic building is the French colonial Presidential Palace, you cant go inside but it looks impressive towering over its finely manicured gardens and ornamental pond. You can go inside Ho Chi Minh's minimalist stilted building if you are prepared to queue for a long time. An argument erupted between one of the soldiers guarding the house and someone in the queue. I don't know what it was over, possibly someone took a photo of something that wasn't allowed. This added an uncomfortable air of tension to the queue. There are a lot of rules when visiting this place, but its hard to know what they are. The only fun part of the visit was the quirky One Pillar Pagoda.
