Don’t bother with a guide. We waited just ‘10minutes’ at least twice waiting for a english speaking guide to take us round but she just didn’t come. No worries it is just the initial section (I believe short term display) that doesn’t have any english. The rest of the building has everything in Vietnamese, French and English. We saw a guide rushing a group around, so we were pleased we didn’t pay for a guide and could go at our own pace.

Quite good museum with reasonably modern display styles and lots of flip book documents to peruse at your leisure. The place assumes you know the lifestory of Ho Chi Minh before you start as it uses his pseudonyms without explanation and other quite crucial details. If you know a little before you will enjoy it all the more.

Impressive and well maintained communist building. Lots of artwork and things to look at, but I just didn't get it! It is basically just a collection of things that Ho Chi Minh owned or liked, which is fine as it's a museum about him, but some of the items were just so loosely related to him, or just of no real interest, it was a little inconceivable. For example, I'm pretty sure there was a pen in a cabinet that had been used by Ho Chi Minh, and the same for a shovel he once dug with...

That aside, however, it's worth a visit just so you can say you have been, there's some interestingly weird artworks and things to take photos of - and the mausoleum and 4 pillar pagoda are nearby.

It is (as of 2011) also free - Beware of touts outside selling "tickets" (which you don't need) as they will try and convince you need tickets to see it.

I enjoyed visiting the museum, but would have liked it better if it had more information in English.
Lots of things I did not understand the context...

We had a fantastic visit to this museum and would have liked to have stayed longer than our one hour visit, but it was closing time. A lot of the information is not in English which was frustrating, but that aside.. the whole thing is done so spectactularly well it really didn't matter. This is worth the visit and I would actually go back here again.

Basically a Modern Art museum - Nice, but certainly not what I was expecting.
