We really loved Hanoi and Hang Gai street offers lots of restaurants and small shops; here you really get the feel of the old city.

Hang Gai, Hang Dieu, and all the other Hang streets in this area, can keep you walking and looking almost endlessly. You can buy almost anything. The food! Oh, the food! Hanoi street food would have to be some of the best in the world. Tasty, subtly favoured. There are also lots of great restaurants. The local beers are also good. Don't bother with the local wine. It has a most peculiar after taste.

This is a great street for the savvy clothes shopper, but beware you will need to be a good bargainer to get a good deal. The night markets add another dimension to this street, but they only happen on a weekend from about 8pm onwards. The Markets have mix of clothes, jewelry and trinkets.

This is a really good shopping street in Hanoi. Some great shops including silks, embroidery and even t-shirts. Wonderful time.

This is a busy and interesting shopping street near the Lake. You can get a very wide range of products (of similar material and design, but with vast difference in quality and workmanship). Here you can find top notch art shops selling orginals worth thousands of USD, or similar copies selling more than 10 times less. Ditto for other souvenirs, so spend some time and find the right shops for you.
