Owner description: This museum was opened in 1966. Though in need of updating, some interesting artifacts are on display in its three floors organized chronologically.

Really interesting, not crowded, and full of treasures and laquerwork. I particularly liked the ancient sculptures. (try Matchbox restaurant in the grounds too!)

Lovely place to come, esp if its wet. Tour groups do not seem to come here so you can appreciate the art in peace and quiet. a great range of art from 11th century-20c

For less than USD1 you can gain entry into the Fine Arts Museum and spend an hour or 2 wandering about the beautiful (if chaotically curated) pieces. As other reviewers have mentioned, the signages are very confusing, and you’ll find yourself backtracking as you navigate the rooms. Their rules about photography are also confusing, we were told at the entrance that we could take pictures and then minutes later admonished by another security guard and told no pictures. You can stash your camera and belongings in the free luggage lockers at the entrance. Do look out for the Buddha statues on the ground floor and the stunning carved lacquer work paintings on the 2nd floor

The museum, located in two French Colonial buildings, is confusing to navigate and lacks sufficient signage. I first had to figure out where to pay the admission fee, and how to enter the building. The rooms are chopped up and there was no English guides material that I could
see.
That being said, many beautiful pieces are displayed, including lacquerer ware, paintings, folk art, sculpture etc. i most enjoyed the beautiful collection of buddhist monks, realistic and haunting. Do find them you will be amazed.
