This is a beautifully restored French colonial hotel, which has kept up,it's tradition of refined service and great hospitality. I stayed in the new wing and wasn't disappointed in the room. It still maintained the old world charm in keeping with the rest of the hotel - Well appointed, comfortable and elegant.
The hotel is very well located on a beautifully tree lined street, and even though it's close to all the action by the lake and old quarter, it offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Don't forget to check out the historic Bamboo Bar, and the bunker tour that the hotel offers. It's great to stay at a property that has played host to so much of the history of the nation.
Pack some nice clothes for this part of the trip. You won't feel out of placed dressed properly at the hotel's superb restaurants.
The Vietnamese breakfast at Le Beaulieu is excellent. All staff are brilliant, attentive, concerned and efficient.
I am grateful to you for pointing out with so much praise our high standards of service.
I am glad to hear that you have so much enjoyed the food and services at Le Beaulieu restaurant. It is one of our Signature restaurants and we received so many guest feedback like yours.
Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
We knew this was going to be an amazing hotel when the limo service from the airport ($62USD) provided us with bottled water, a plate of macaroons and free wifi in the car. From there on, the hotel did not disappoint. We needed a roll away bed in the room and the rooms were large enough to accommodate this. The bamboo bar, the pavement cafe and the Beaullieu restaurant were all exceptional. The staff were attentive and charming. I would highly recommend this hotel and was sad to leave, until I remembered that there were macaroons in the car!
I thank you for your positive feedback and for highly recommending Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. We look forward to welcoming you back with our undivided attention.
An oasis in the bustling old quarter. Probably one of the best hotels in Asia and definitely the best historical hotels. Within walking distance of the lake, art galleries and a fantastic assortment of both up-scale and casual restaurants.
Dear Olivia B,
We love to indulge our guests. I think that this makes a huge difference. We want all of our guests to take with them magnifique moments spent at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
We look forward to welcoming you back shortly.
One of the classiest most gorgeous hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. Well preserved and displaying a warm and modern colonial feel the hotel is an oasis in the midst of the bustling old quarter Hanoi. The hotel is situated next to an Omega and Valentino store with Hermes located in the hotel itself. Fresh cut flowers are everywhere and the lobbies - there are two (one for each wing) smell glorious. The staff are numerous, highly attentive and are dressed quite well in various outfits recalling another time. All speak English. They always open the door for you. The hotel is almost exclusively westerners it appears. The rooms are gorgeous, the bath products are excellent (Lanvin France) the beds and showers are top notch and the turn down service includes three macaroons every day. Bottles of water are refreshed in the rooms as well.
Facilities: Top notch.
- Pool: In the center of the hotel by the French restaurant. Usually crowded but well maintained.
- Gym: Towels, water and magazines are provided. A full time attendant is available to wipe down the machines when guests are done using them. Televisions are embedded in the equipment and miles/kilometer translation is available. Elyptical, treadmills, bikes and free weights are available and all are new equipment.
Spa: Beautiful space and service and you can choose the music you want to listen to during your massage. One quirk, the changing room, while equipped with a steam room and sauna was coed and cramped. This could have been designed better. We opted for a 60 minute massage - it was good but not amazing.
The restaurants are also solid - Angelina has good pizza and drinks and the Epicurie is a great gourmet deli with fresh breads, pastries, chocolates, macaroons, cheeses, wines, charcuterie and liquors. Go early to get croissants because by 10am they are gone. The other restaurants - a French and Vietnamese are supposed to be very good although we didn't attend. As with many hotel restaurants in Asia - kids under 9 eat for free.
I would highly recommend the Metropole for the location, service, room and facilities quality and overall feel - you can't go wrong.
You have covered all of our assets: location, service, room and facilities quality and overall feel . Thank you so much for emphasizing on those points.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
