“A typical French food at a very affordable price”
Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

What surprise me is the amount of Japanese customers in this typical Bistro restaurant. Often Japanese customers are a guarantee of good atmosphere, good food and good wines.
I was completely convinced when I got in the restaurant. I ordered cold cuts and a blanquette which fit perfectly my taste. The service was really friendly and the last good surprise was the price. So so cheap. For travelers or local people who work in Hanoi, I will recommend this Top restaurant which for me is the best solutions in Hanoi.

“Great food-good service”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Went there for lunch several times, really worth it especially in the week. The owner is the famous french chef from France Didier Corlou. French food that is excellent. Excellent value for money. Grest place if you are looking for good french food.
I recommend, blanket de veau, steak tartare and their patais as well.

“Best French food in town”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

My French friends told me that the ex chef of Metropole Hanoi has opened this restaurant and I went to try, and it is overall, very satisfying, all dishes are mouth watering, however a little rich, i guess that is French cuisine though, warning: do NOT order the King Size steak unless you have at least 2 people sharing it, it is very big and very thick!!!!!

“Provencal enough to visit.”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Oddly I read reviews for a lot of restaurants before selecting the DC Bistro Boutique. Though nothing was terribly wrong with the place, nothing was all that special either.

The downstairs wine area and bar seemed to have a lot of character... however the upstairs room where I ate had little to none. The hollow room and uninspired white walls only served to bounce the other two or three conversations in the room around in a dizzying and annoying fashion.

The house wines were appropriately priced as was the food. I ordered the set menu for 269,000 VND. The french onion soup was the best part... however half way through the bowl they brought my main (duck confit) out. I instructed them to keep it warm until I finished the soup.

The confit was a minimalist interpretation of the classic french dish, served with beans and sausage (almost more sausage than duck actually). It was disappointing.

The course ended with some cheese which was fine. They did have ample choices on the set menu.

The staff were friendly and efficient.

“Very cosy place, great ambience, good value”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

I went on a business lunch and was impressed. Nice casual atmosphere, owner greets you as you enter, good wine selection (though I did not have wine), and overall a nice discovery in Hanoi.

Had the set lunch consisting of a tomato salad, pepper steak, followed by a caramel dessert and coffee. I enjoyed the overall experience and would rate it as a place to go to eat in Hanoi. Will go again for a dinner soon.
