We were staying at the Essence Hotel so ate at the restaurant several times. We enjoyed every meal and every dish.
There is a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes - spring rolls, soups, beef la lot, Vietnamese pancakes and more. The pumpkin soup is fabulous. All the dishes are affordable - around $7 USD - and good sized portions.
The atmosphere is a calm escape from the hectic street outside. The decor borders on generic hotel design, but it is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is very central to the Old Quarter.
The staff are tremendously friendly. They really made the restaurant. They are eager to please. They seem truly proud of the cuisine and are happy to explain the dishes and how to eat them.
The menu also has a good selection of Western dishes. We only tried the Vietnamese so can't vouch for the Western food.
The restaurant was often very busy so reservations are recommended.
