“Hidden treasure!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

We were recently advised to eat here and was unbelievably surprised. The food is all really beautiful and quick. Lean and delicious meals with the staff being incredibly helpful and very extended and fluent in English. prices are around the standard for Vietnam between ( 3-8) but the sizes are western sizes. Left so full due to eating so much. Gratin especially is to die for.

food is great, service wonderful. Waiters are good as well even when they kindly try to teach you how you should eat that special food. Everything perfect.

“Lovely dining in Hanoi”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We had dinner here last night. The small restaurant in Essence Hotell was full when we arrived. The staff apologized several times for our 5-minute wait (on a couch in the lobby, with menus) for a table. The menu includes local Vietnamese food, Western fare, and a child's menu. The presentation, flavors, service and atmosphere were all very nice. I would definitely return. Note that breakfast is geared mostly for guests of their hotel.

“Very good food in a civilised environment”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

A very nice and comfortable restaurant with excellent service. The weather was cold and this was one of the very few restaurants we could happily sit in without our coats on. One of the best dining experiences we had in two weeks of being in Vietnam. (We had been finding the food unmemorable and, all too often, disappointing.) In addition, we were pleased not to be subjected to the awful intrusive music that seems to be popular in many establishments.

The one negative was that the menu prices outside on the pavement were in VND but, at the table, in USD. So, that when we came to pay in cash in VND the amount had to be converted back (nevertheless, the final amount charged was in line with the menu outside). It was confusing and we tried to explain this to the waitress but she did not understand. Also, our understanding is that it is illegal for Vietnamese firms to list their prices in USD, and that includes menus. As with most places, the (questionable) charge for paying by credit card was 3%.
