Best value for money!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 13, 2013via mobile
This hotel is awesome!!! The best service I had throughout my whole trip as the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, they even have a laptop in each room to use. The location is excellent, very central to shopping and eating and water puppet show.. Will definitely book here again!!

From the time we arrived at Meracus, after being picked up at the airport by the pre-arranged driver, we really felt like VIP's! Bags carried for us and a lovely cup of ginger tea at reception. Our room, a Superior, was small but adequate, clean and with lovely touches like rose petals and a complimentary fruit platter. The bathroom was good too, with the most adavanced multi-nozzle shower I have ever seen.
Breakfast was a good balance of western and vietnamese dishes. I can have cereal any day at home, so enjoyed the pho and various dumplings on offer. On the last day, an omelette, very tasty.
The staff was always welcoming and helpful, and made us feel special every time. They organised our fabulous Halong Bay cruise, including an upgrade, which they did not tell us about and it was a lovely surprise.
The location, fabulous, Hang Dau could be renamed "Shoe Street"!
Only 1 little thing, is that guests in the stairwell that our window opened to, were sometimes inconsiderately noisy, but that is hardly the fault of the Hotel.

Hotel Meracus was considerably great and amazing. We stayed at Deluxe room, the room was surprisingly well-equipped, room with an open window where we could have an amazing city view from our room. Staffs spoke fluently English and methodically organzing a great trip to Halong Bay on A Class Opera Cruise. The location was dedinitely excellent in Hanoi center, we approximately spent 5 minutes for almost great attractions nearby. Great hotel and simply amazing!

We were very excited to stay at the Meracus after reading all the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. It was my partner's birthday and the staff decorated our room with balloons, rose petals and a cake! It was a lovely surprise. Staff were all very kind and helpful and spoke good English.

We loved the view from our balcony. It was generally quite noisy but that was to be expected given the hotel is located in the heart of the Old Quarter and very near to Hoan Kiem lake.

We appreciated the laptop and free wi-fi but the internet connection was quite slow. Bathroom was clean and shower was great. Breakfast was really good with great variety. Congee and pho were excellent.

Meracus Hotel is great value for money.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

We stayed for 2 nights then went to Halong Bay, then returned for one night. The staff are just amazing, nothing else could be said for them.
We had a standard room and although it had everything one would ever need, it was a little small, maybe next time I would look at the next catagory.
The breakfast was good, plenty and varied, certainly should suit any taste!
On the first 2 night we could not fault anything, however on the last night we were interupted by a few noisey guests, this highlighted the possible thinness of the walls. The staff may have just been TOO nice to some arogant tourists.
One trainee needs a special mention, I think her name is Charlene, she took as to the pharmacy and even stayed to make sure we were served well, and she was quite cold. Amazing service, thank you.

The best part is the location, very handy to all parts of the old city and very close to the lake.
