So, I'm generally very wary of 99% 5-star review places, and was thinking the same thing about this one, but I threw caution to the wind and went for it. Man, that it was the best decision of my Hanoi trip would be an understatement!
AMAZING place, staff, food, rooms, location - I mean, one can just keep on going.
Every day of my 4 night stay I'd walk into the hotel, and I would feel like I was the only person staying at the hotel - that's the level of service I got every time.
Every member of the staff deserves an absolute A+ for their commitment to service with a smile. Nothing was too much to ask. Need a sim card with data? Sure, have a seat and within 15minutes they'll have a new one purchased, you need a shower after your early morning arrival from the train station, and you don't have a room booked for that day? Sure, no problem - you're given a room for a bit to shower and freshen up, and a free breakfast to boot! Need a motorcycle to take you around town? Sure, they'll negotiate the price and get you going. Really, I cannot say enough about the entire team - they truly were incredible.
The rooms are well appointed, perhaps a bit dark even with all the lights turned on, but still very comfortable. The TV had plenty of English channels which was great. The bathroom was great, as well. Floor to ceiling marble tiling, very chic and modern looking and all the amenities provided. (Being a Muslim, the inclusion of the water shower next to the toilet was great!)
The location - again, can't be beat. You walk out onto Ta Hien street which is probably one of the most happening streets in the Old Quarter. There's tons of places to eat, shop, walk around, and truly experience the Old Quarter. You're about a 10minute walk to Hoan Kiem lake, a 5-minute walk to the fun Night Market on the weekends, and a general 15-min walk to every other place within the Old Quarter. Places like the Hanoi Hilton, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum etc are also a very enjoyable 20mins away on foot.
Breakfast is a pleasure, not just because of the food, but again, because of the staff. They have a preset option of 6 things that you order as your "main course," and then you have the open buffet for everything else. I tried the pancakes and the french toast from the main menu and both were well presented and delicious. The homemade jams, and yogurt were very tasty and the selection was varied to suit almost every taste.
They give you a map that the hotel developed and it was a god sent. It was on me at all times and really helped my walking expeditions around the city.
I cannot recommend a hotel more!
Although everyone at the hotel is great - I'd like to give shout outs to Long, Huyen, Sam, and Tam for making this an unforgettable experience for me.
