Our group paid for 4 rooms and stay 4 nights in this hotel. There is five storey height but no elevator supply. For the room's mattress is quit poor and too old (I think the management should arrange to replace a new one even they are only a 2 star) and the wifi in every room we stay is weak. But, the hotel location is good and the kitchen prepare free breakfast every morning. There is a lot of food surrounding in this area for the day and night and nearby to all the interesting places.
Can request the staff to arrange for the local tour, the price is reasonable.
All the staff are friendly and especially, the kitchen can prepare tasty breakfast.

Room Tip: The lower floor the best

This hotel has an ideal location in the center of a small alley near Hoam Kiem Lake. The alley is too small for cars and few motorbikes use it, so the area around the hotel is quieter and more peaceful than other nearby streets. The alley is quite charming. In the mornings one shop across from the hotel sells flowers and another sells steamed buns. Elsewhere in the alley vendors sell meat and produce, and there are several small restaurants.

The hotel is 5 stories tall and there is not an elevator. The lower floors have high ceilings, so be warned it's a long climb to the 5th floor. The building to the west is only 3 stories tall, so the west rooms on the top two floors (401, 402, 501, 502) get a lot of sun, and are noticeably hotter than rooms on lower floors. An elegant curved staircase leads to the rooms.

The deluxe room we stayed in was quite large and had a spacious balcony big enough for two chairs. The balcony faced the alley so was perfect for relaxing and people watching. The rooms are reasonably clean but some of the fixtures are a bit old and worn. The floor of the shower had a small hole covered by a mat, a towel rack would come loose if bumped, and the door lock took a bit of wiggling the key to get it to open. This is a budget hotel, so don't expect luxury.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The helped us book tours and transportation, including an unusual request for a 3:00 am trip to a nearby flower market. The laundry service had our clothes ready the next day in the evening. Our laundry was neatly folded, but had a faint smoky smell.

The included breakfast was decent, including both Vietnamese (pho, steamed sticky rice) and western dishes (eggs, bread, crepes). The hotel has free wifi and 2 computers in the lobby for guests to use.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay, and would recommend this hotel for budget travellers.

I stayed at Real Vietnam Hotel for 4 nights. Wifi connection is very good! Receptionists and staff are very friendly and kind, and room are not too bad! It's difficult to find location...but easy to get to Hoan Kiem Lake, restaurant, souvenir shops. I will stay there to see staff when I come again!!
