Went with a group, liked it so nice we tried it twice. Very pleasant staff, great food, very high standard WC. Fried local fish with galangal, ginger, chilli, green banana, etc in clear rice paper you roll up yourself is sensational

Friendly crew, and delicious food to start with! Of all restaurants in the hotel, and on the streets of Hanoi, this restaurant simply beats all of them hands down. Probably except for the exterior and presentation of the restaurant itself.

Crews are mostly non-English speaking, but they will try their best to understand what you want, or get another crew who is well versed in English language to communicate with you.

Food is simply awesome! I like all the dishes that I had ordered, but if I have to choose the best out of all, I would probably vote for their snapper vs black pepper. Fresh fish, and is timely cooked to maintain the fish's meat firmness.

Tourists visiting Hanoi, this is a must visit restaurant to satisfy your stomach.

After couple disappointing meals in Hanoi, we did some research reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor and chose the Yin & Yang. My partner certainly had a reasonable bottle of wine after 2 weeks holiday in Thailand finding only expensive and uninteresting wine.

The food was decent. We ordered grilled duck with Mac Mat leave which is a northern dish, and it was aromatic with the unique flavor of herbs, although the duck was a bit dry, or over cooked. However, we would not complain much as the duck is certainly one of the hardest meat to cook.

The stir fried morning glory with garlic had no suprise to us --- normal and pleasant. We enjoyed more in Thailand when it cooked in Thai oyster sauce.

The sour and spicy fish soup was not sour at all, although I had no problem to finish it as some ordinary fish and veg soup.

I wouldnt call it was the best food in Hanoi, but it was a reasonable meal.

The restaurant that my family enjoyed most in Hanoi is the Yin and Yang . Highly recommended is the Snapper fish sour soup that has a superb blend of herbs , pineapples and tamarind. So refreshing, and delicious. The fresh rice noodles with the sautéed beef is also a must try but the No. 1 and most interesting dish in the whole of Hanoi is the crispy grilled fish seasoned with galangal wrapped together with 10-15 other herbs in a thin dry rice paper. Simply divine! Another great dish to order is the fried taufu with salted duck eggs. The disappointed dishes were the fried morning glory with garlic which was too soft and overcooked. The banana flower with chicken salad was a little tasteless and the desert - the glutinous rice with mango was an embarrassment to the chef. The glutinous rice was undercooked as the grains had a hard end and the mango turned out to be just a diluted purée. A definite No No !
