“The Best Hotel Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

We initially planned on staying here for a day because I had an important grad school interview and wanted a place with strong wifi, helpful staff, and good decor for the background. The staff were very understanding and helpful, and told me they would even install a webcam on one of their computers for me if needed. The wifi was excellent and I managed a twenty minute interview no problem. We loved the hotel and its staff so much, we stayed another week!

The rooms are well decorated and spotless. They do a very thorough cleaning every single day (mopping the floor, cleaning the tub, etc). They leave Nescafé, tea, water, flowers, and a fruit plate every day. Amazing. The bed is soo comfortable (we overslept every day and I blame that!) and the bathroom has a big lovely tub which means the room stays nice and dry. There is a flat screen with HBO, Cinemax, discovery, history, animal planet, etc in English. There's a PC and a minifridge stocked with reasonably priced beverages.

The staff here are absolutely excellent. They greeted us by name and remembered our plans for the day, always ready with a helpful suggestion. I you ever wait in the lobby for any reason, they always offer you a drink. We trusted them enough to simply ask them them to book us a day tour to Ha Long Bay (there are so many dodgy tourist shops and awful stories even from people who pay tons of money for 'luxury' tours). They arranged an excellent day for us. We were in a group of about 12, on a nice spacious ship and had a great lunch and a perfect bus. They even told the company to make sure we were back I time for our night train. When we came back, they offered us a room to use for showering and changing before our train, and called us a cab while we did so. The cab company they have a relationship with uses the meter and was therefore hassle free and cheaper.

Oh and I forgot to mention breakfast! Cooked to order, absolutely delicious and as much as you want for free. I was tempted to move into this hotel permanently. :) Thank you for a perfect stay!

Friendly, helpful, chatty, ready with recommendations to help you... I can't sing enough praises for the hotel staff working here. Top notch.

My only gripe was a bathroom mixer which took nearly a minute to stabilise the water temperature and halfway through my shower, the temperature changes again.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floors as it may be noisy

The room was very nice and clean, the breakfast was good (especially the croissants), the staff was both friendly, helpful and pleasant. Also the price for the room was very reasonable.

Basically I can't complain about anything about my stay and I would both recommend this hotel to anybody going to Hanoi and stay there again another time in Hanoi.

We came to Hanoi on a brief weekend trip. first day was at a different hotel, second we went on the cruise, and i decided we should try this one on the last day since i read so many good reviews about it. so much that i became curious. and boy i sure did not regret it! the room is clean, spacious, with sweet white&floral design, and even comes with a working PC right next to the tv, which is right above our mini fridge. the bathroom has both shower and tub and complete toiletries plus a weighing scale! open the wardrobe door and you will find 2 clean bathrobes hanging nicely there. and they place rose petals on the bed, and a bowl of welcomed fruits on the table. the staff are super friendly. location is great, only minutes from the places we wanna go in this old quarter. the breakfast is awesome and comes with many choices.(p,.s. you must try the noodle soup and poached eggs - yummy!) This is a generous hotel, i must say, and for a very reasonable rate too (circa USD30/night)! Go on, people, give this place a shot. It is worth every Dong you pay.

Before booking with Holiday Diamond I did a quite thorough research on the internet. I can't compare it with other hotels in the area as this is my first time in Hanoi, but I am happy with my choice. The rooms are basic but clean. The service of the staff is excellent, and all of them spoke at least some level of English. Breakfast is not a buffet but you could order as much as you like--choices include bread and eggs, French toast, pancakes, noodle soup, yogurt and fruits. If you're a big breakfast eater like me, you'd be happy, though you'd probably end up eating the same thing every day. We were also happy with the one day tour of Halong that they booked for us. The fact that they have free airport pickup if you stay for 3 nights made the overall cost of staying with them equal to those offering rooms for $6 less than they do, since airport transfer is $18. Overall, it would be difficult to beat this hotel for value for money. Would definitely stay with them again if I ever go back to Hanoi.

Room Tip: Room 605 has the bigger window opening directly to the canopy of a tree, so sunlight was streaming t...

We only officially stayed for one night, our first stop in Vietnam, but the team repeatedly went above and beyond for us. The room itself was good value for money, nice and clean, good (free) wifi connection, flat screen tv and PC. The location was perfect for wandering around the Old Quarter and Lake, plenty of shops and places to eat and drink - both local and touristy. We rushed breakfast to catch a tour unfortunately but there was plenty of choice. Everyone was always very friendly when we were coming and going.

We were able to use a room to shower and change for free following our Halong Bay tour and they organsied transport to and from the train station for our Sapa tour (which the lovely Nancy helped us book). We did get caught out with the public holidays on 30/4 - 1/5, transport was at a premium around this time. While we were in Sapa the amazing Cherry helped us to find train tickets from Hanoi to Hue during this period which we were really struggling with, plus they organised a free taxi to the station for us, Tony even came along and helped us find the right carriage!

All in all we'd happily recommend this hotel and would stay again. A big thanks to everyone :)

This hotel was fabulous. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They booked dinners for us, taxi's, called to confirm bookings and were always smiling. The room was nice and clean, tv and computer with internet connection. They brought us up fresh fruit in the evening. It is located in the old town, quite a busy area, about five minutes walk to the lake. It was also great value. I would stay there again.
