We stumbled across this cafe a few doors down from the hotel we were staying in; its such a great place we ended up coming back a couple of times for coffee and evening drink.

The interior has a slightly decrepit colonial feel - it’s been refurbed in a way that gives it a modern aesthetic while retaining its French charm and avoiding the overpolish so prevalent in other Hanoi bars.

The place was not too busy when we were there, but then over several floors + a roof terrace it is actually deceptively large so can handle a number of people without feeling overcrowded. Drinks (alcoholic and non) were great, music was a welcome release from K-Pop/karaoke and the service was friendly and informal. They also have a music and film programme which looks interesting, although we didn’t manage to make any of the events.

Drop by for a couple of hours; it’ll be a welcome break from the freneticism of Hanoi that you won’t regret.

It was a bit tricky to find off our map but friendly locals guided our way without problem. It had a very nice chilled atmosphere, we sat up the top where there were less people, the decorating is interesting and cute and the menu was great, lots of vegetarian and some gluten free options. I had a nice veggie burger, there was only one strange issue with it, after pointing it out they were very apologetic and gave me a decent discount. Over all a nice place to relax and eat dinner while in hanoi!

Me and my friend came here for some brunch. The coffee was very tasty, the decor fashionable and the service pleasant. We sat on the top floor surrounded by greenery, but it could get a little hot up there without the fans. The menu offers plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options and states that they use organic and free range when possible.

Attached is a really cute little fashion boutique which sells women's clothes. On the walls are posters featuring local artists and musicians as well as info on local pride events.

I would definitely recommend checking this place out for a change of pace from the streets of ha noi and for some tasty western food

In a quiet little street in the Old Quarter, this cafe is a quiet oasis in busy Hanoi. Set in a beautiful period French building, the owners have created a cosy, retro style that's very welcoming. We came back every day for the espresso made with great quality coffee beans and fresh milk. Food is fantastic too, with a range of vegetarian options. Wifi is good, staff are friendly and happy, great music and the ground floor space is air-conditioned (but make sure you go upstairs too for a look at least). I especially loved the newly created hibiscus slushie. Delicious. Well worth a visit (or three).

Found this place from the reviews on TA. It didn't disappoint. Tucked away in a cute little lane, great atmosphere, good food and drinks. Not cheap but a great place to hang out. Vegitarian and vegan friendly also. My friend and I are looking forward to checking out the live music on a Friday night there!
