We stumbled across this cafe a few doors down from the hotel we were staying in; its such a great place we ended up coming back a couple of times for coffee and evening drink.
The interior has a slightly decrepit colonial feel - it’s been refurbed in a way that gives it a modern aesthetic while retaining its French charm and avoiding the overpolish so prevalent in other Hanoi bars.
The place was not too busy when we were there, but then over several floors + a roof terrace it is actually deceptively large so can handle a number of people without feeling overcrowded. Drinks (alcoholic and non) were great, music was a welcome release from K-Pop/karaoke and the service was friendly and informal. They also have a music and film programme which looks interesting, although we didn’t manage to make any of the events.
Drop by for a couple of hours; it’ll be a welcome break from the freneticism of Hanoi that you won’t regret.
