Though it's quite far from Hanoi center, the place is absolutely stunning. Mr. Thanh Chuong has paid attention to every small details inside the palace for us to understand about Vietnamese culture and tradition.

I was reminded of my childhood and impressed by peaceful atmosphere, fresh air and sounds of nature u can no longer in Hanoi's hustle and bustle. Also a great place to take photographs as lighting and setting is unique and gorgeous

But it's better if you can go here with a Vietnamese so he/she can explain the meaning of statues, symbols and so on. There is a guide book provided in both English and Vietnamese but it is of little help if u want to understand anything in depth

Only saw the Opera House from the outside. Excellent example of colonial architecture. Worth visiting.

A nice little get away from Hanoi, worth a trip and not too long for a little stroll. There are enough of things that worth a visit. The drive from Hanoi is not bad either.

This is an out of the way place about an hour north of Hanoi and is worth a trip if you have some free time. Thanh Chuong is a Vietnamese artist and this palace houses his collection. He has created all kinds of art from statues to paintings. The gardens are beautiful and there is a restaurant, tea house and gift shop as well. Here you will get an interesting look at the culture and architecture of Viet Nam. Also, if you can manage it, try to see one of the shows at the indoor theater which are held occasionally, or see the traditional Vietnamese folk art of water puppetry in the small pond near the entrance.

A quiet, unique place for you to know about Vietnamese's ancient house but there is no one there to introduce you about the house and its culture
