The pancakes alone are worth stopping by, with mango and honey almost as delicious as maple syrup. The hot pot chicken was also good.

Com Ga cafe and bar provides a friendly environment, with the staff keen for a chat. The coffee, food and cocktails are tasty. Great value for money too, they often have 20-50% off cocktails, beer and wine. Have had several visits there and all have meet expectations. If in Old Quarter I recommend you drop in for a drink or something to eat.

We walked by this attractive looking cafe and walked in for a drink and snacks. We had a great table on the second floor balcony. Staff are very friendly, and the food was delicious (green papaya salad and spring rolls). Of particular note, one of the owners is openly gay and activist for LGBT rights in Vietnam, along with some members of his staff (good job on your participation in organizing the 2012 Viet Pride Ngan!). Take a moment to walk up to the 4th floor where "The Closet" holds exhibitions on the history/issues of LBGT in Vietnam. By-monthly LGBT venues are held at this location as well, see Facebook for more details. Good job Com Ga!

I went here with the missus for a late dinner after an evening flight.

Between us, we had:
-Chicken and papaya salad.
-Beef pho.
-Earl grey tea.
-Bottled water.
-Passion fruit smoothie.

Total cost: 165,000 VND (£5/$8)

Pros:
-cosy cafe.
-great waitress who was sweet and keen to improve her English.
-tasty and reasonably priced food.
-superb papaya salad and chicken milkshake.

Cons:
-1 or 2 small mix ups with the order, which were sorted out minimal fuss.
