“Nice hotel on a quiet street behind the cathedral”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Very quiet spot.Good location,2 street from the lake(3-5 min. walk).

The room was a very good size ,comfortable, one good bed.Clear with a window,at the back of hotel.Quiet. the bathroom ,good size.

The Buffet breakfast was good and nice.

But most of all,the staff at the reception were so nice ,kind and helpfull. If we reported something not working,2 minutes later someone was at our door..Especcially Ruby. She even called us from her home the night before we checked out, because she would not be there in the morning.

They even offered us free transfer to the airport, they had to go pick up someone ,I think.Very nice and appreciated.

We didn't enjoy this hotel as much as Hidden Charm up the Road (and owned by the same people). Rooms are incredibly small and bathroom needs work. There is no lift and after a long day out walking it's an effort. In saying that the hotel is perfectly situated in the old quarter and it's easy to get to most things. Staff are excellent and very friendly. Breakfast is not as good as Hidden Charm but still this hotel is great value.
Bed was as hard as a rock, but I think this is par for the course in Vietnam.

Room Tip: Make sure your airconditioning works

A lovely little hotel in the centre of Hanoi, close to the Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff really make this hotel a lovely place to stay whilst in Hanoi. Very helpful and friendly, helping us with our tourist destination and always asking how we enjoyed the trip at the end of the day, remembering where we had been. The room was comfortable and spacious. For a centre location it was very quiet room.

What a great location (quiet street and close to so many attractions), beautiful room and best of all, the most warm and wonderful staff. We loved this place, especially the lovely girls on the front counter who took such good care of us. However, avoid room service as we did get upset tummies from it!

A small hotel in a side street. The Indochina Gold Hotel, Hanoi was very quaint and old fashioned but clean and comfortable.
The staff were all lovely and so helpful and honest. They wanted to talk to us a lot to practice their English I think.
Breakfast was fine

Staff and Management of the hotel were helpful who always provide excellent services whilst our stay .

We booked an organized tour to Halong Bay for 2 days and 1 nights , everything was find until the typhoon arrived , we were forced to return to the hotel unplanned . Even though the hotel was fully booked at the time , they managed to accommodate us a very nice room with an excellent breakfast. The hotel staff were extremely helpful in showing us ways to get all surrounding points of interests in Hanoi .

They also assist us in arranging a Vietnamese cooking class in an up market restaurant in My Dinh area . It was fulfilling and the most satisfying experience and it is all worthwhile .
This is because of the wonderful guidance of the hotel staff at Indochina Gold Hotel .
I will no doubt stay there again and will recommend others to do same .
