“come here to feel it yourself!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013

You might ask yourself why among a number of beautiful pagodas in Hanoi, Tran Quoc should be visited. The reason derives from the fact that it is considered a cultural symbol of Vietnamese Buddhism partly for it is the oldest pagoda and situated in the center of the capital of Vietnam. More importantly, unlike other ordinary pagodas, Tran Quoc Pagoda was built in a very intricate way. Behind the worshipping shrine is the Buddhist trinity followed by corridors, ten shrines and the belfry. Inside the pagoda, there are many valuable statues, such as the red lac statue trimmed with gold of Sakyamouni Buddha's Parinirvana, which is a masterpiece of Vietnamese sculptural art, and lots of ancient stele.
No one who has visited this significant pagoda of Hanoi does not take interest in its special and intricate style of architecture dated centuries ago. come here to feel it yourself!

“One of Hanoi's better sights”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

This pagoda is at the West Lake. It is quite pretty with an interesting "tower" and a lovely walkway which leads up to it with very pretty tiles and lotus flowers.

“Temple with nice lake view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

At least you should go there once when you travel in Hanoi. If you interesting in Chinese culture , you should go there too. You can see the difference between the temple in China and Vietnam. Beside you go to the temple, you can walk around to enjoy the lake view near the temple

“Refreshingly peaceful and devout atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

Tran Quoc Pagoda was worth the wait. It's built out into the lake and is refreshingly peaceful inside. It feels...genuinely devout and reminds me of some Catholic cathedrals.

I am gestured to have my photo taken with a Viet girl mucking around with friends posing by a tree, it's a genuine moment and a genuine grin between the two of us laughing as we hug the tree.
