Reviewed March 9, 2013

That is great pagoda located in the great area... it is located on the small island in West lake. That is nice pagoda with tower and the tombs here. You can visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum then walk down to Quan Thanh temple then Tran Quoc pagoda, west lake area

“Serene Pagoda”
Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

The Tran Quoc pagoda is a small and serene pagoda in the lovely Truc Bach lake.
While it doesn't have much to show, it is very symbolic to the Hanoi people and you'd do well to hire a guide to help understand the history of the place.

“Roof of the nation”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

The Roof of the Nation, indeed, this pagoda on the lake is a center of Buddhist study and a place for Hanoians to pray for the nation. A great stop along the Thanh Nien road. Sit in the gardens and enjoy the peace of the West Lake.

“Pretty and free”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

closes in the middle of the day (11:30 to 1:30, I think) so pay attention to the time. There are two sections to this temple, the first one had the pagoda and a gardenish area and a small alter. The you go back to the entrance and go along a pretty marble fence with carved dragons, turtles and clouds. In the back is another alter and a small pavilion. FREE.

“Very Good Site..Excellent to People Watch”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This PAgoda is situated on an island on West Lake. It is a very beautiful site in itself.

To us, what mde it an excellent experience was watching visitors deliver offerings and prayer at the holy site. Definitely not a Disney "industrial leisure" experience.
