“This is the place for you if you're a tour bus kind of guy”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

The food was fine, overpriced, but fine. My wife and I came here for dinner at our hotel's recommendation, and the entire restaurant was literally packed with one tour bus group after another. The menu was helpfully written in 3 different languages (English, Japanese, and Vietnamese) for all the tour groups. Again, the food was probably fine, but the overwhelming tourist feel is a bit much. Oh, expect them to tack on a healthy service charge on your behalf as well. Thought that was poor form.

“Can do much better”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

Nice setting, good decor and good service.
But for the rest and i think this restaurant can do much better given the price (well above average). Dishes were quite unusual, maybe a bit too much to our taste. we left a bit disappointed

“A Happy Discovery”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We were looking for another restaurant and stumbled upon this one. The seafood pho was great and the seafood clay pot was even better. We went back for a second night and the food was just as good but some servers had not showed up for their shift so service was slower. Reasonably priced.

“Delicious food, great service”
Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

We ate at Mam, on a recommendation from a tour guide. We loved the food and wine. They have a set menu,as well as western food, but we asked for Vietnamese cuisine . We had Bannana flower salad with beef, lovely crunchy salad with top quality beef strips. The MAM prawns were the best we have had. Large tiger prawns cooked perfectly , they we're the highlight of our meal. Clay pot fish in pepper sauce and steamed rice were also very tasty. The waitress spoke English well, and the service excellent. The recommended wine from Chile was also lovely. Total price $62.00 US reflected the quality of the food, service, and restuarant setting well. We would recommend this restuarant highly , for a quite quality meal in Hanoi.

“Local food, Western prices”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

Obviously, the best food in Hanoi may be found on the street. But if you want a higher sense of cleanliness, this restaurant serves local dishes in a nice, air conditioned environment. The food was good quality. Do expect to pay Western prices in this and most other nicer restaurants in the Old Quarter.
