This hotel is a little bit of luxury centrally located in the Old Quarter. As soon as we entered the hotel we were made to feel very welcome. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. There was construction going on next door but I can't say I remember hearing it so it couldn't have bothered us. The staff were so helpful with anything we needed. We spent three nights there in total, broken up by a trip to Halong Bay. The hotel stored much of our luggage while we visited Halong Bay. Ken on reception booked our airfares to Hoi An for the six of us and everything went very smoothly. We were able to buy sim cards for our phones in the hotel for just $5 and the staff took time to help us set up our phones. The two door attendants were always so helpful, making us feel very welcome every time we returned to the hotel. Hanoi was the first place we stayed on our visit to Vietnam and we were more than happy with this excellent hotel, the friendly staff and the ideal location.

We did finish our Three week stay in Vietnam at this Hotel.
It was a pleasant surprise. Very welcoming, nice, clean rooms, and great view over the lake.
We did decide to book our last tour to haloing bay with them, as all there tours have been sold out , they organized for us a tour with a other operator witch was very good as well.
But after all the big plus is the location right in the old town.
We did also enjoy a cocktail at the rooftop bar with a great view over the old city and the lake.
Over all report price/quality was great, very helpful staff, and clean. it is also located in a little side road witch is much calmer witch makes a bit of a difference to the noise from the old town.

We stayed at this hotel in April, 2012, and loved it. It is in the Old Quarter and perfectly situated for the great shopping in that area. The rooms were great, very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. The staff were the best we encountered throughout our travels in Vietnam - and it was great to get back to the hotel after an horrific train trip back from Sapa to be met by smiling and helpful staff at reception who did their utmost to get us into our rooms as soon as they could. Mandy on the tours desk was also fantastic. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The hotel was also very happy to store our suitcases for us when we went to Sapa and again when we went on our cruise of Halong Bay. We highly recomment the Tirant and hope to return there soon.

Tirant was a great way to start our trip in Vietnam, especially after being ripped off by the airport taxi driver for 45 American dollars. The driver agreed to 20 dollars at the airport and then two miles outside of the airport he pulled over on the highway and told us it would be an hour drive and would cost 45 dollars. What are you to do at that point but agree. Once at the hotel we get out to pay him and find that he reeks of booze! The staff at the Tirant greeted us with pleasant smiles even hough it was midnight and informed us it should have only been about 20 dollars and let us know they have a private car for transfers for 23 dollars. Moral of the story use hotel transfer! Our deluxe room was great huge beds, very clean, free wifi and computer in room, staff offered their advice to any questions you had and were extremely accommodating;) The only downfall is that the walls are very thin so we were awoken by the sound of children one morning. In my opinion very minor detail compared to how pleasant everything else was. Great location in the old quarter.

Great location if you want to be in the middle of the Old Quarter. Spotlessly clean and terrific staff. Currently construction work on adjoining building from 7.30 until 19.00 (and sometimes later) 7 days per week. Also on our first night qthe occupant of an adjoining apartment decided to conduct a solo karaoke session until 2.30!!! Good breakfast and great view from bar on top floor. Good value but currently not guaranteed to be restful.

Room Tip: Make sure it has got a window!

Thank you for your feedback,

We sincerely apologize for flaws caused inconveniences and discomforts during your stay at Tirant Hotel. We are striving to ensure our patrons experience the best visits possible during their travels and we fell short of our goal this time.

Regarding your concern about late karaoke from next door building, there was a birthday party and family reunion held on that day. The family did not know that their party was affecting their neighbors. Right after receiving the report, our General Manager has settled a discussion with the neighbor to address noise concerns. Our management also has reported to the District Council for warning and instant response if the issue happens again.

We also acknowledge noise problem coming from construction next door. We were able to make an arrangement with construction project management in order to minimize noise and to change the construction time. It now starts from about 8 or 8.30 am and finish about 6.00PM. There is 2 hours break at noon time. Moreover, the work is not constant due to the project requirements; thus, it may happen 5 days a week or 3 days a week, all depends on construction procedures. Being aware of construction noise, our hotel reservation team manages to arrange rooms which are on higher floors and far away from construction area to minimize impacts and to ensure that your stay is still relaxing and enjoyable as much as it could be.

Regards,

Stayed here for 3 nights in March. Excellant hotel in the Old Quarter. Really in the thick of all the locals here. They cook and virtually live on the streets here, but if you don't stay in this area, you don't get the true feeling of Hanoi. Nobody bothers you, they just go about their own business.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very big and clean. Excellant bathrooms. Would recommend this hotel. Just note that by about 10.30 pm. Hanoi has virtually closed, you need to eat and drink early.
