“Great Little hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2011

I choose this hotel over others because of reviews and location. It turned out to be wonderful. Thank you to Mandy and Kim - who went out of their way to help us and make us welcome. They advised on things to do in the area - restaurants, our trip to Halong Bay and booked a cooking class for us. All terrific. Our room - on the front was great. Big, lovely bathroom, desk with computer set up and a great breakfast - with friendly staff to greet you each day. We loved our stay and would go back

Room Tip: Ask Mandy - let her know what you want

Clean and quite a big room as compared to other hotel. good location as it is minutes away from the hoan kiem lake and other attractions. highly recommended

What a gem. Spent all day & most nights out. But fab place to wake up in & come home to. Bright happy caring. New building so a bit of work still going on so the odd bang of a hammer but not out of work hours.
A small boutique hotel that really wants their guests to enjoy their stay.
We are so happy to have found The Tirant, Kim & his team. Great

We totally recommend this welcoming hotel. New, clean and central but best of all friendly.

My friend and I spent 3 days at this lovely little hotel. It is well located in the Old Quarter and managed by lovely, friendly staff. We did come up against a couple of problems though.

Although we had booked and paid for a twin suite, for our first stay of 2 days, we were given was a poky little twin room (602) with hardly any room for our two suitcases. In addition, the shower tray did not drain properly, leaving us standing in a little lake of water after every shower. Discussions with management resulted in profuse apologies but they were unable to do anything further as the hotel was fully booked. Apparently the manager was well aware that this particular bathroom had a faulty floor, but the extensive repairs required were put off until the busy tourist season was over. To be fair, management did offer us free transport to the airport (not required), refund of minibar costs (not used) or free laundry (not required). Really anything except a refund or credit of any kind for not receiving what we had paid for.

Our return stay (part of our tour arrangements) saw us allocated a *much* bigger room with a better bathroom (301), further highlighting that our initial room being a ''suite'' was an absolute farce. We enjoyed our stay in this room far more.

Breakfasts both times were just adequate. Both my friend and I agreed that this was the poorest breakfast we had in Vietnam during our 12 day trip.

I have given the hotel the good rating above based on our last night's stay and the general good disposition of the staff and the amenity we enjoyed in the hotel as a whole. It was a shame that our initial experience was so poor as otherwise I would have to agree with the other travellers and give it a better rating.

Dear valued guests,

Thank you very much for your kind support to Hanoi Tirant hotel. Simply, our major aim is to provide a memorable and unforgettable stay with us in Hanoi. Being a newly-opening modern hotel, we deeply acknowledge customer’s satisfaction is the key to success. Therefore, towards that goal, we are committed to serving with all the heart, all the mind, which we have been doing well so far. Tirant hotel with excellent central old quarter location, well-equipped rooms, and a professionally serving team, we are more than delighted to be your all services.

It is regrettable that your full stay somehow missed your all expectation which we may guess due to the unknown information about our room types as well as the customer’s room-request. Below are our explanations so that everyone could have a fair look.

Kindly be informed that, Executive rooms we do have two kinds coming with different room size according to the availability of balcony and standing/bathtub bathroom.
Room 602 Executive includes a balcony facing Hanoi Old Quarter and a terribly roomy standing bathroom which makes it smaller than room 301 Executive.
Room 301 Executive is incredibly larger than room 602 due to the absence of a balcony but with the presence of two big movable windows with the street view instead.

Please be noted that upon customer’s request, we will prepare the room. You may come to stay with us through a travel agent, so it is a challenge for us to define your request and your liking. To make up for all unexpectedness, we did also offer the free late checkout, which we believe that was our exceptional customer service.

Breakfast: your feedback is among a lot of our praises so far. Upon each customer’s taste, we have a diversified menu for buffet course and cooking by order, for example, various kinds of eggs, pancakes, seasonal fresh fruits and juices, hot bacon and ham, etc. Again, each guest each taste! We would try some more dishes to satisfy all guests’ taste in any way.

Thank you very much for your stay, and we highly appreciate your feedback which we best know how to improve to live up to the customer’s expectation. It is our great happiness to get your valuable feedback as a positive construction in order for a better service.

We do hope to have more chance to welcome you again, making sure that with your full information, every of your expectations will be met!.

Sincerely yours,
Kim Nguyen

A quiet oasis in the old quarter when your first inside. Nice and serviceminded staff, breakfast buffet to satisfaction. Clen and neat rooms. The old quarter can be somewhat difficult to orientate within - need to have been in and out of the hotel a couple of times in order to find your way directly "home"

We only stayed one night here between coming back from Halong Bay before flying out and it could not have been nicer. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make our very tired selves feel much better. The room was fantastic - the room is very luxurious. The bathroom was a fantastic treat after a few nights out at Cat Ba.The bed was devine - I slept very very well.

We were leaving very early in the morning and the staff organised a taxi and also had breakfast to go for us so that we did not miss out. The breakfast to go was a lovely french baguette that was just what we needed to get moving.

I was sorry not to have spent more time in this lovely hotel. Great location too - proximity to all the action of the old quarter but with only a short walk to the Lake and other activities.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back to avoid noise
