“New, clean and right in the mixer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2010

This hotel was recommended to us by a couple we met in Hoi An and I am pleased they did. It has only been open a month (as at Nov 2010) and is a real gem.

It is located right in the middle of the old quarter with plenty of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance.

The staff were really helpful and accommodating while the rooms were clean with a decent standard of kit (air-con, mini-bar and TV) with a firm but comfortable bed. The en-suite was a smartly designed area with frosted glass walls and privacy curtains in the room and had a decent shower in it.

Our room (deluxe double) looked out onto the street which was full of hustle and bustle and although some noise filtered into the room, it was not detrimental to our experience. There was no Wi-Fi which would have been a plus, but there was a computer available in the lobby for internet access. The hotel in general was very clean and felt secure.

We were also able to negotiate the use of a room for a few hours to shower and freshen up on our return to Hanoi a few days after our initial stay. We paid a half a night's rate for this but it was money well spent.

Staff were eager to please, quick to respond to all our requests and were particularly helpful in arranging our taxi to the airport at the end of our stay for which there was no noticeable mark-up in price.

If you are heading to Hanoi, this hotel is worth a thought!

Very nice- brand new hotel. The upside was that everything was clean- downside that the wifi didn't work, or was very temperamental. We'd been transferred from a hotel that scammed us, and the two bosses had made arrangements between them, however (and I don't think it was the Spark's fault) we ended up getting a room with a double and a single bed, when we were four fully grown people. Little misunderstanding, but the staff seemed genuinely distressed about not being able to give us a four-person room, and we improvised a bed with the extra duvets they brought up. Very nice hotel, I'm sure it will become more and more popular.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in September at the start of our Vietnam trip. We had been told to be careful in Hanoi, particularly with hotels so we were a little bit nervous about picking the right place. The staff here were so lovely and helpful, they went all out to make sure that we were well looked after. They booked our Halong Bay tour for us and even told the tour guide to take special care of us.

The hotel is brand new. The rooms are nicely decorated and modern. I'd recommend staying towards the back of the hotel if you can as you don't notice any of the noise from the street. The price was great and the location was perfect to explore around the old quarter. There is a great pub called Le Pub and a restaurant called 69 within 5 minutes walking distance which we would recommend.

Would definitely come back here.

We stayed in this mini-hotel with 3 boys under 9 years old and had a fabulous experience. The staff were very welcoming from the outset and dealt with a minor problem quickly and efficiently. We were made to feel more like friends than paying guests. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and ideally situated in the heart of the old quarter. We came back from Cat Ba Island and stayed here again, we liked it so much!!
