“Great Hospitality!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2011

We ended up at this hotel after a little misunderstanding but after inspecting the rooms we decided to stay instead of having to carry our bags around town to find the hotel we were meant to be staying at. This hotel made us feel at home straight away as two of the boys carried our bags upstairs and Tony was really funny. This hotel is cheap, clean, central to bars and restaurants and also walking distance to the market. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and when we also booked our train tickets through them they personally brought us to the train station, carried our bags, got our tickets from the ticket booth and brought our bags onto the train and put them under the bed... Awesome place to stay with really nice staff!

I booked for a week & stayed for a month! Tony & Anh looked after me & made sure my time was relaxing & I had everything I needed - the rooms were clean & the the hot water was hot!! The location in the old quarter is perfect for strolling around the narrow streets or taking a walking tour to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum or Hoam Kiem lake.
The booking service they offer for trip to Halong bay are good value though I recomend everyone to 'shop up' as you gets what you pay for in Vietnam!
I would strongly recomend Hanoi Backpacker Palace Hotel to anyone planning a trip to Hanoi - they also organise a taxi to pick you up from the airport which is highly recomemnded.

This family run small hotel was really good value for money. It is well situated within easy walking distance to the lake with ,plenty of shopping and good eating close by. Ahn and her staff are all helpful and friendly and full of advice to help you enjoy Hanoi. We went off on several trips away from Hanoi and when we came back tired and hanging for a shower there was always a room to crash in until our room was vacated if we came back at dawn! Really did make a difference. The rooms we stayed in were all clean, comfortable and affordable for the budget traveller. Not much of a view in all the rooms but ours were ok. Internet, breakfast all included. Certainly would go back there to stay in Hanoi again.

Really enjoyed our stay and the recommendations from the staff of what to do made our trip perfect. from Halong Bay to Sapa, perfect tours. Even allowed us to have a shower and a snooze for free (plus lock our things up) when we had a spare 4 hours from the end of our Halong Bay tour and the beginning of the Sapa overnight train. Location was also very good and very willing to help us in anyway possible. Definitley recommend.

An excellent hotel at a good location, really a "palace" for backpackers. Very nice staff!
I also booked trips here to Halong Bay and Sapa, cheap and good!
When I come back to Hanoi I will stay in this hotel.
