We enjoyed our stay in Hanoi and were pleased with this hotel. Our room on first glance was very nice but did miss a few home comforts which would have made the stay more comfortable.
The Spa and massage in the hotel was excellent and all of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
This is well worth a stay but don't expect luxury - this is adequate for any trip to Hanoi especially on a budget.
We would stay again.

My daughter and I spent three nights at the hotel in two different rooms. We spent a night on Ha Long Bay between our stays at the hotel. There are many postives about the hotel. Its very well located in the Old Quarter. It was easy to stroll around interesting streets and to many local attracations. (Try the nearby Water Puppet show- the best we saw in Vietnam!)
Breakfast was good and we ate one night in the restaurant. The food was good but a few more authentic Vietnamese dishes could be added to the menu. The rooms were good through the bathroom in the second room we stayed in had a less than pleasant smell. My guess was the previous occupant had spilt water on the floor and it had soaked into the flooring. If we left the bathroom window open at night it seemed to deal with the issue. The staff were very helpful. I would certainly stay again.

I'm a businessman based in Ho Chi Minh City and occasionally stay at this place during trips to Hanoi. I keep coming back because of the convenient location. I was recently there in February, and the room was equipped with a fake (electronic) fireplace, but no heater. No hot water heater, although instant coffee and tea were FoC. No answer to a phone call to room service (#333). Poor service at the front desk. "I need a red invoice, please." "Remember to give me a red invoice." "Do you need a red invoice , sir?" ????

"We spent great time in this very friendly hotel. The ancient city is very near. The staff (Mr Kevin) helped us a lot when we had a problem with Columbus travel ( Santa Maria Cruise). New booking was made with Bhaya boat, very nice but the Halong bay cruise was too short. Thanks to all of this hotel, The lady manager, Travel desk Kevin, The good restaurant. We would come back if there is a new chance."

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel during our first trip to Vietnam in December 2012, and we were quite pleased with the location of the hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Just a stroll away from the Hoan Kiem Lake, the night market and in the middle of a hectic and lively city buzz. We loved strolling in this labyrinth of streets and we were fascinated with all outdoor activities of people. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is charming and so is the Hanoi Boutique Hotel 1. People are willing to help you to find your way inside and outside the hotel. Just ask for Kevin, a well-trained and helpful manager who speaks English very well. The hotel has the charm of times gone by, and the comfort of nowadays. We stayed in an executive room, more roomy and on request one with a balcony to overlook the Old Quarter. The room was clean and pleasant! And without any disturbance of street noise. The French bread at breakfast is just delicious, but a slice of cheese or eggs with bacon was missing. Next time we will ask for it -;) Yet the Asian breakfast table was lovely and plenty enough to get you started for another day of sightseeing in Hanoi. And when you get hungry again have Kevin show you the way to restaurant Com Pho Co, close to the hotel. Delicous Vietnamese food for budget prices. We enjoyed this hotel and we can recommend this hotel to everybody visiting Hanoi.

Location of the hotel is convenient, rooms is spacious, comfort beds, large shower room, LCD TV with many channel, tasty breakfast and most importanly friendly staff. Half the time i stayed with hotel that staff unable to communicate with me, they don't understand me and neither i understand them but the staff (Tra) can explain to me so fluent in english.. Keep it up..

Great hotel in the heart of the old town. Kevin the manager and the rest of the staff where very friendly. The hotel was nice and clean with good restaurant good. We stayed with 2 kids under 3 and it was perfect location to get around. Rooms are small but big enough for one baby cot. Only bad thing was breakfast – not great and they ran out of food quickly.
