Description: Located on the top floor of Hanoi La Siesta Diamond hotel, the Gourmet Corner restaurant boast the finest view of Hanoi from the 12th floor, overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red River and the ever-growing skyline of Hanoi. The Gourmet Corner food menu is the combination of Vietnamese and some Western favorites. Our Vietnamese food options mostly are the dishes from the North. In northern Vietnam, a colder climate limits the production and availability of spices. As a result, the foods are often less spicy than those in other regions, especially the middle part of Vietnam. Black pepper is used in place of chili as the most popular ingredient to produce spicy flavors. Also, coriander is used commonly in most dishes. In general, northern Vietnamese cuisine is not bold in any particular taste - sweet, salty, spicy, bitter, or sour. Most northern Vietnamese foods feature light and balanced flavors that result from subtle combinations of many different flavoring ingredients. I don't always believe what i read on TA, but the reviews of this place are spot on.

I emailed ahead for a reservation and was glad to have done so as the dining room as rather small, although they did seem to be turning the table over quite quickly.

The food was excellent, we ordered a couple of starters and mains to share between us and it was all delicious, authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Service was attentive , easy to understand and friendly. The bill was obscenely good value for the quality of food, location and ambiance.

The Gourmet Corner is an excellent 'last night in Hanoi' destination.

We came here twice and were blown away with how amazing the food and service was!! Everyone that works there is so lovely and there wasn't one thing on the menu I didn't want to eat! My friend had the steak and said it compares to high end places back in the US! Amazing amazing amazing. Do yourself a favor and go for a meal!

Last night in Hanoi, and a good way to finish our trip, with fabulous views over Hanoi and the lake. Several varieties of nem from different parts of Vietnam, beautifully presented, followed by classic Cha Ca La Vong, Bun Cho, and (please try this one, it's brilliant!) thinly-sliced beef coated in crisp breadcrumbs vietnamese-style. The staff in this restaurant and the hotel must be the most helpful, cheerful and interesting in all Hanoi. The rooftop bar alone makes it worth visiting; do go.

As soon as the elevator doors opened on the 12th floor we were welcomed by restaurant staff.
A great selection of Vietnamese and Western food on the menu. The food quality and service you could not fault.
This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting Hanoi...but please book a table, the restaurant is small.

The menu was so extensive, all meals could be enjoyed at the Restaurant on the 12th floor with commanding views of the lake and the city. Meals were of superior quality with caring and attentive service. Local and western palates were accommodated.
