Description: Located on the top floor of Hanoi La Siesta Diamond hotel, the Gourmet Corner restaurant boast the finest view of Hanoi from the 12th floor, overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red River and the ever-growing skyline of Hanoi. The Gourmet Corner food menu is the combination of Vietnamese and some Western favorites. Our Vietnamese food options mostly are the dishes from the North. In northern Vietnam, a colder climate limits the production and availability of spices. As a result, the foods are often less spicy than those in other regions, especially the middle part of Vietnam. Black pepper is used in place of chili as the most popular ingredient to produce spicy flavors. Also, coriander is used commonly in most dishes. In general, northern Vietnamese cuisine is not bold in any particular taste - sweet, salty, spicy, bitter, or sour. Most northern Vietnamese foods feature light and balanced flavors that result from subtle combinations of many different flavoring ingredients. PS: Please be informed that your reservation request by email will be answered within 24 working hours or later depend on our work-load at that moment. Any urgent booking request should be made through the phone call. We are sorry for any inconvenience may cause.

WE stayed at the HE-Diamond in Hanoi and breakfast was included. The breakfast buffet was amazing and you have a view of Hanoi. What a treat! The wait staff are so helpful and are always happy to bring over more coffee!

“Super view, super food & excellent service”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

What looked like an expensive fine dining restaurant at first sight on second sight turns out to be a fine dining restaurant - only not expensive. The wines fare at 4 USD per glas, the man dishes between 7 and 12 USD. And all of this with magnificent views as well of the old quarter of Hanoi and of the red river. Attached to the restaurant is a nice open-air rooftop bar for drinks.

Don't miss it.

“Relaxing and Enjoyable Time”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Two of us went to The Gourmet Corner for lunch, after a tiring walk around the Old Quarter, and had a very relaxing time there, with delicious lunch. I had the vegetarian set and the lasagne was so well prepared. On the 12th flr, the view is extensive, the place is comfortable,
cozy, very clean and well furnished. Service was excellent, attentive and caring. All the staff were cheerful, it brightened us up especially after a tiring walk. We had a relaxing and enjoyable time there and at a leisurely pace. Would have liked to have dinner there and see the night view but couldn't make it. Prices were very reasonable
I had made a remark on the air-con, and it was so nice of the manager to respond with an
apology very soon afterwards.

“Excellent IF...”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

4 stars for food and the service!
I would rate them 5 stars for the service IF...
I was very much satisfied by the quality of their food and the service at the prices given in the menu. It sure reach out to the max level of a 3 stars restaurant.
I didn't expect to experience the outstanding food from a top chef when I read their menu with prices sent in an email the day I made my reservation for the dinner. This restaurant was rated number 1 here for the value of money we spend in their restaurant. Don't ever expect that they are giving the best food and service quality at the standard of a 5 stars restaurant. It's simply ridiculous to set your expectation that way! You don't pay one-third price here to get the highest standard of a 5 star fine dining restaurant...
Yes. I was talking about value of the money since the couple sitting at the table behind mine was nonstop complaining about their wine being not poured in their glasses and that the food here tasted so differently from a 5 stars resto they had tried. It was a magic that I saw they finished off more than 90% of their ordered food. Things got worse when they threatened the waitress that they would write a negative review about this restaurant and refused to listen to whatever the waitress and the conceierge explaining to them.
As said from above, my dining experience here would have been excellent IF...they sent these thieves off.
I feel sorry for them and for...myself. So a 4 stars for all your effort.

“Great restaurant!”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

We had the opportunity of staying in Elegance Diamond Hotel and, unknowingly of the number one ranking of restaurants in Hanoi we strolled into The Gourmet Corner.
It is the perfect restaurant.
Beautiful sights from the 12th floor both in the restaurant and terrace (where you can enjoy a drink before or after dinner).
Service is almost overwhelming as the staff does its best to provide a great service.
Good selection of fine Vietnamese cuisine and some good western selections.
A reasonable selection of wines, including some great Chilean cabernet sauvignon.
We were so taken to the place that we returned several times during our stay and look forward to repeat the experience on our next visit.
