Description: SPECIAL: To celebrate the coming festive season, on 24-25 Dec and 31 Dec - 1 Jan 2017, we are going to serve the Special Set menus only. We shall send you a copy of the set menus by email per reservation request. Please kindly send your request to our official email address on this website. The Gourmet Corner restaurant located on the top floor of Hanoi La Siesta Diamond hotel, which boast the finest view of Hanoi from the 12th floor, overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red River and the ever-growing skyline of Hanoi. The Gourmet Corner food menu is the combination of Vietnamese and some Western favorites. Our Vietnamese food options mostly are the dishes from the North. In northern Vietnam, a colder climate limits the production and availability of spices. As a result, the foods are often less spicy than those in other regions, especially the middle part of Vietnam. Black pepper is used in place of chili as the most popular ingredient to produce spicy flavors. Also, coriander is used commonly in most dishes. In general, northern Vietnamese cuisine is not bold in any particular taste - sweet, salty, spicy, bitter, or sour. Most northern Vietnamese foods feature light and balanced flavors that result from subtle combinations of many different flavoring ingredients. PS: Please be informed that your reservation request by email will be answered within 24 working hours or later depend on our work-load at that moment. Any urgent booking request should be made through the phone call. We are sorry for any inconvenience may cause.

This restaurant is not on a corner... As a heads up. So if you are looking for "charm" don't be misled. That having been sad has very nice views of the surrounding city from the top floor of the hotel.

Food was otherwise good. I had only simple dishes for lunch (spring rolls) so defer to other reviewers.

I was residing at Hanoi Elegance Diamond Hotel for my last night in Hanoi, and was pleasantly surprise to find out that Gourmet Corner which was highly rated in TA was actually right on the 12 level of the hotel.
The food and service was excellent and it offered a view of the hoan kiem lake like no other. It cost 35USD for a carbonara, a rib-eye steak and the spring roll. Not exactly the cheapest, relatively, but well worth every single dollar we paid.

Came here on recommendations from our hotel with was part of the chains of hotels. Beautiful restaurant where you can see the landscape of Hanoi from the 12th floor of the hotel it is in. First thing you will notice is the wonderful service that they provide here. The menu is not the most expensive we've seen in Hanoi, but what I can say is that the service here is definitely top notch.

The food here is good. Try the Taro soup, it's definitely something different. I hardly see it anywhere else. We ordered one out of curiosity and it tasted good. I would like to point out that they serve vegetarian cuisines as well which was a huge plus for us as my boyfriend's dad was a vegetarian. Else where he would have to order his dishes and do away with the meat or end up having to just order a plate of vegetables but here it was a refreshing difference where they even have a vegetarian set meal which he was thoroughly happy with. His mains was mushroom lasagna. Looked and tasted swell!
Thumbs up for catering to diverse needs.

One thing to note tho if you are eating here, if you are not having your dinner early, it would be better to make a reservation before dropping by. It seems extremely popular with foreigners. Also, you could also make a reservation if you would like to sit somewhere where you can enjoy the view.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel The Meracus. It was just around the corner and very easy to find...and what a find!

The food is excellent and amazing value! The staff couldnt be nicer. Lovely experience for our first night in Hanoi. The snakehead (fish) is really good!

The Gourmet Corner came with a reputation for great food and friendly service and it diddnt disappoint! If the hustle and bustle of Hanoi is getting a little fatiguing this little restaurant in an oasis. Set high above the skyline of Hanoi it has a sensational 360 degree view from every table. The view is great but not the best asset of Gourmet Corner, it is the staff and quality of food. The staff made us incredibly welcome and entertained our four year old as they fussed over our decisions and ordering. Food choices are local and western with options for kids. The dishes we ordered were Vietnamese and were as best as we had had on our trip. There is an outdoor area for eating and drinks and would be a lovely spot for a couple to spend an evening. We came back over and over and felt the staff treated us like family. Don't miss out....
