Description: Located on the top floor of Hanoi La Siesta Diamond hotel, the Gourmet Corner restaurant boast the finest view of Hanoi from the 12th floor, overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red River and the ever-growing skyline of Hanoi. The Gourmet Corner food menu is the combination of Vietnamese and some Western favorites. Our Vietnamese food options mostly are the dishes from the North. In northern Vietnam, a colder climate limits the production and availability of spices. As a result, the foods are often less spicy than those in other regions, especially the middle part of Vietnam. Black pepper is used in place of chili as the most popular ingredient to produce spicy flavors. Also, coriander is used commonly in most dishes. In general, northern Vietnamese cuisine is not bold in any particular taste - sweet, salty, spicy, bitter, or sour. Most northern Vietnamese foods feature light and balanced flavors that result from subtle combinations of many different flavoring ingredients. PS: Please be informed that your reservation request by email will be answered within 24 working hours or later depend on our work-load at that moment. “The Gourmet Corner Restaurant is fantastic.”
Reviewed August 10, 2011

We stayed at the Excellence Hotel Diamond while in Hanoi (a lovely hotel) and the Gourmet Corner Restuarant is on the top floor of the hotel. However even if we had not been staying at the hotel the Gourmet Corner would have still been one of my favourite restaurants in Hanoi. The food is wonderful and beautifully prepared. The view over Hanoi is great and the service is amazing and always with a smile or an offer to help with choices. It's well worth a visit especially if you are staying at the hotel and even if you aren't, find it and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Reviewed August 6, 2011

We were staying a few doors down and decided to try this based on reviews. Had a fantastic meal, my partner had western meal and myself Asian, and it was delicious. Cocktails were great as was the service and a great view of Hanoi and reasonably priced. Would
definitely recommend this place.

“Just loved it”
Reviewed June 15, 2011

I stayed at HE5 last October on a mates holiday, & came back with my wife and her family. I've stayed at hotels from 1 star to 5 star all around the world, & I've never experienced such great service as I've experienced at HE5 & the Gourmet Corner, then & now. After a sometimes chaotic month travelling through SE Asia, it is such a pleasure to be able to trust & rely on the staff at HE5. Special mention this time to Phuc and others who were delightful and provided great food on the rooftop restaurant. The food here is good value, high quality and thoroughly enjoyable.

“Great western and local food with a view!!”
Reviewed May 18, 2011

The Gourmet Corner is a lovely restaurant located on the top floor of the Hanoi Elegance Diamond Hotel. My Husband and i have eaten there for both Lunch and Dinner. It is a small restaurant, quiet, clean, nice decor, and a great view of Hanoi! The staff are also amazingly friendly and helpful!
If you are vegetarian like myself, you will find some options such as the Sesame Falafel, Rata Tofu or Asparagus soup. All very tasty! My husband (non vegie) enjoyed the Cashew nut Chicken and the Crunchy Cheese Pork.
A great spot to escape the heat and hustle and bustle.
There is also an outdoor area that you can sit and enjoy a cocktail or a cold Hanoi beer and enjoy the view!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed April 20, 2011

The restaurant is on top of the Elegance Diamond Hotel (very good hotel at good price) and has a nice view of the city. The restaurant is relatively small but as it seems to be unknown (still quite new) there was enough space. We went twice during our trip and were both times very please with food & service. Especially I can recommend the Trio Lasagne.
