We really enjoyed our day with two university girl students. One was a sophomore and the other a senior. They were both from small villages in central Vietnam. Before using Hanoi Kids, you should understand they are not tour guides. They have been tested and trained, but are not licensed guides. They are doing it for the experience of learning more about your country and to practice their English. You will not pay them any fees (nor do they take tips). You will pay for taxis, admission fees (yours and theirs - student rate). They will also be happy to have lunch with you. We had eaten at a couple of local places the night before, so took them to a very nice international restaurant. They commented it was the most expensive they had been. The conversation with them was very enjoyable, we learned a lot about them and they about us. We found them to be knowledgeable about the sites we visited, but certainly not experts. Hanoi Kids is a great program and if you understand what to expect, I am sure you will really enjoy the experience.

Our afternoon with HanoiKids was an absolute highlight of our two week trip to Vietnam. We visited the Temple of Literature, a traditional house, an ancient palace and archaelogical diggings and had lunch with our guides. It was personal and honest interaction without the self censoring you experience with paid guides. We would recommend it for anyone who would like to meet 'real' Vietnamese people. We were on a '6 star' trip and the afternoon ranks very highly - not to detract from the luxury but to commend HanoiKids.

Book early, we were very lucky to get in at late notice. No fee, but we paid for our guides' entry fees, lunch and taxis during the tour and made a donation to HanoiKids at the end of the afternoon.

Dat and Ha, our guides, picked us up from our hotel and we toured the Ho Chi Minh Complex, the Hoa Lo Prison and Old Quarter. Dat also brought us to a restaurant that served delicious food and introduced us to egg coffee (tastes a lot better than it sounds).

Apart from learning a lot about the sights above, Dat and Ha gave us a great insight into Vietnam's culture and its people and patiently answered all our questions.

Both spoke excellent English, were very polite and fun!

Overall a fabolous day.

We had an excellent full day tour with Zom & Bach in Hanoi. We found out about Hanoi Kids from the good reviews on Trip Advisor & weren't disappointed. We spent the morning visiting the Ho Chi Minh complex & then had a fabulous lunch in an authentic Bun Cha place in the Old Quarter that we would not have been able to go to by ourselves. We spent the afternoon wandering the Old Quarter & visiting the Hoan Kiem Lake area. We got great ice cream from a place where only Vietnamese go & sat on little stools in the street at a local 'bia hoi' joint. We really enjoyed spending time with Zom & Bach & understanding more about the history of Vietnam & current every day life from them. A must if you want to try to get an understanding of the country you're visiting. HanoiKids is a voluntary organisation - you pay for any expenses on the day & any contributions are welcome.

enjoyed our full day tour with 2 local college students, Nah and Chi. They were well informed patient and fun. Spoke well in English and were anxious to practice more. Well organized and easy to set up a tour. Flexible itinerary based on your desire.
