This is a coffee shop like you might find in Oz or US. Good break from the local food if you are longing for something from home. Good coffee, lunch and cakes (the banana bread is good!).

This is an excellent cafe serving a range of drinks and treats. Going inside enables you to escape the hustle and bustle of Hanoi's streets. It's a really relaxed atmosphere with a western feel. The milkshakes are pretty decent, very thick and made with ice cream. For me the best desert was the Mango Crumble.

This is one of those classic Asian places where foreign teachers or expats offering English lessons invite their local students to meet them... For anyone who has been an expat you'll know what I mean.

Coffee is good - ambiance is very nice. Staff is friendly. Definitely worth stopping by if u are in the area near the church in old quarter and want to rest/check up on emails.

Made a stop at Joma in the afternoon. We ordered coffee and a smoothie.. The coffee was alright, but not fantastic. The smoothie was mediocre as it was a bit watered down. The salmon and cream cheese bagel was delicious though! I use to eat bagels all the time when I was living in Canada so it was a real treat for me to have my first good bagel in 2 years!

They also had a map of the Old Quarter drawn on their chalkboard wall. It would tell you which areas of the old quarter sold what. It was helpful for people like me who did absolutely no research on where to go. Very sweet of the cafe.

Comfort food galore resides at this cafe and you won't be sorry that you went...except for maybe your waistline. All manner of sandwiches, pastries and drinks are to be found here. The soups are very good and the cheese cake is amazing. I can't imagine anything there that would be bad to get and the only real trouble was making a decision on what to have.
