We stayed one night in the beginning of December 2012 at this hotel. We got a room with a balcony. Not a room for a person that like big spacious rooms but we loved it allthough we had two big bags both. For one night it is ok but it was difficult to walk with all bags open on the floor. Breakfast ok. Staff friendly but due language problem I almost didn't get my wedding dress that I left for ironing back in time. We liked this hotel and really want to recommend it. Not too far away from anything and if the weather is hot you have to take a cab anyway. Had prefered a room with a "real" toilet not with a window. At least the shade was quite ok so you got some kind of privacy.

Room Tip: The one with the balcony was ok.

We stayed with my wife at Conifer for 1½ months. Everything is in it's right place at this hotel. The location is perfect. The tree lined street is cick. Hotel 5 minutes away from the famous Hoan Kiem lake. The 10 storey building (3-4 rooms per floor) looks good from outside. The rooms are clean and elegant. The staff is young, always very helpful and well trained. Breakfast (included in room rate) is tasty and food variety good. Can warmly recommend.

We arrived very jetlagged and found there was confusion concerning our room!
Mr Nguyen Huu Hung was very understanding and remedied the situation!
The staff are the friendliest , helpful and well trained people we have met and nothing is too much trouble ! There are not many Hotels where you get fruit and cake delivered to your room daily with a cheerful smile!
The rooms are also well planned with attention to detail!

This Hotel was dressed beautifully for Christmas and even the breakfast tables were adorned with Christmas decoration,
The Conifer is ideally situated for local amenities and eateries .
I can highly recommend the location
and the employees.
There was even Spainsh Flamenco playing at breakfast which was ironical as that is where we live!
Very welcoming !
Cannot fault any aspect of the service received here.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are ideal

Elegant, reasonably priced and superbly located in one of the most fashionable areas of Hanoi, close to the Hanoi Opera and a 2 minute walk to the Hotel Metropole. A 15 minute walk to the beautiful Hoa Kiem lake in the center of the Old Quarter. The staff is probably one of the nicest and friendly group of employees I have ever encountered at a hotel anywhere. They genuinely care; it is not an act. The front office manager, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable and give advice regarding tours to the stunning sites of North Vietnam, i.e., the Perfume Pagoda, Halong Bay and the breathtaking town of Sapa, located in the "Roof of Indochina", in the mountainous northwest, close to the Chinese border. We stayed 10 days, using the hotel as a launching point to see these sights. The hotel serves a nice breakfast in the morning. They leave a fruit plate in the room each night. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The rooms with balconies, especially on the higher floors, are the best.

I had some time to kill, so after a one night's stay, I completed the review at the hotel as requested and made two suggestions. Replace the 1950s hairdryer that had the strength of my breath and replace the outdated TV directions. To my surprise, the GM emailed me to say how thankful he was for my suggestions and that all hairdryers had been replaced and new TV instructions were underway and, would I write a review in Tripadvisor? Clearly he didn't see that we would be back. Since we returning to the hotel in three days, I thought I might wait to ensure these tasks had been completed. We returned and all was the same, so I emailed the GM to say they must have missed this one room (which was a lovely larger room called a suite but not). Ah, he responded, it was going to take a few days. Ok, I then suggested a few portable dryers might be available for guests until they could complete the "replacements" and voila, one was delivered the following day.

So, while this little "review" game was a bit disingenuous, overall, the hotel was very good. The location is terrific - 50 steps from the famed Metropole and much less expensive. The "suite" room was one room but we had a small balcony. The bath, while on the smaller side, was very modern (except the hairdryer). Staff was helpful, friendly and informative. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Book a suite - 8th floor has balconies

A friend advised us to stay here and we were not disappointed.  Staff are very friendly and helpful.  The rooms small, but big enough for the limited time that you will spend in them.  The breakfast Pho Beef delicious. The hotel is also centrally located for all Hanoi's site seeing! Get a higher, deluxe room with a balcony - worth the extra money!
