Stayed here on 3 occasions in November. Staff were always pleasant and helpful and as the hotel is only 4 years old the rooms are excellent, and a good breakfast is included in the price. Location (over the road from the Sofitel Metropole and The Press Club) is just right for walking to most places. There are lots of places in the area to eat which are not expensive. The perfect place to stay in Hanoi.

Room Tip: Only double rooms have balconies.

What a lovely surprise my friends and I had when we arrived at the Conifer. Welcoming and attentive staff was a highlight. The rooms were well presented and clean. The bathroom although small wall well appointed, the only con was the rather large step to get into the shower which is over the bath. The area surrounding the Conifer was very nice with high end boutiques for shopping. We preferred to walk a little farther into the Old Quarter to see the markets and do some shopping. The traffic is chaotic once you leave the hotel and at first it is quite daunting but with a never say die attitude we mastered the art of crossing the busy roads.

Room Tip: This hotel is a boutique hotel with only 33 rooms, 3 rooms per floor. Our rooms were very well prese...

Located across from the legendary Metropole hotel, this boutique hotel offers great value considering its location (next to high-end shops and hotels but still within walking distance to the Hoan Kiem lake and the old quarters) and our room was nicely decorated with front-facing balcony. The front desk staff and bell boy were very helpful and always eager to give us recommendations. The only let down for us was the limited and uninteresting breakfast spread offered -- we would recommend the local "pho" but you have to order it from the wait staff.

Really great little hotel with such attentive and kind staff. Bedrooms are clean and adequate size. Breakfast was delicious with coffee refills and eggs cooked to order (exactly as ordered). In a lovely area of town very close to opera house - quiet and away from hustle and bustle but walking distance from Hoan Kiem lake and only 20 mins walk to centre of old city. Definitely recommend it.

We stayed at the Conifer for three nights and was really happy with our room and accommodation. The staff were very friendly and were all interested in our holiday and our plans. The room was very comfortable and we slept soundly every night. My tip would be to pay the extra for the deluxe room, a little bit bigger and a nice balcony overlooking the street. The breakfasts were simple but more than enough to get you through a busy day. I really appreciated being a little outside of the old quarter, it was a bit quieter and there were many very sophisticated restaurants within walking distance.

We went to Halong Bay for a night and did a four night trip to Sapa and the hotel were more than happy to look after our luggage during both of these trips.

I would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Hanoi.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room for the balcony

If we ever have the opportunity to travel to Hanoi again, The Conifer will definitely be our first choice for lodging. We were in Hanoi on two different occasions during our visit in April, and this was where we spent our last week before traveling home. We had a lovely room, very high style, with garden balcony overlooking the hotel's sidewalk cafe - totally charming and super clean. The location is perfect with so many points of interest within walking distance. And enjoying a latte in the morning on the sidewalk cafe, far enough away from the main street bustle, was a perfect way to start the day. It was a real find in our trip planning and we'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.

Room Tip: We liked being on a lower floor where you could relate to the quiet street life.
