A lovely spot for a good meal at a reasonable price and with a family-friendly atmosphere. Lovely location (St Joseph's Cathedral) with options for three levels of dining including street level. Friendly, helpful staff, too.

I enjoyed my ice coffee and the bun bo 'Hue' style
My wife found the Nasi Goreng a little down on taste.
For the price I would recommend this little place.

Located right next to the cathedral La place is offering you wraps, burgers and the like and fresh shakes in a café-style environment. The decor good do with an overhaul but in general the place is nice. The shakes and food are all good, and they offer complimentary wifi. Very good place for a little rest stop and a snack.

We enjoyed a very nice lunch at La Place.

While the downstairs area is small, there are numerous tables upstairs and several tables with nice views of the nearby cathedral.

Service is friendly and helpful, albeit slightly slower than you would expect.

My wife had the Hanoi-style stir-fried beef and noodles, and a lychee lime drink, while I had bun cha and a frozen lemon mint drink. Everything was great and just the right amount to be filling without being too much. All together it came to 268k dong - around $12USD so very affordable.

My only quibble was that they had a Foursquare special which meant that my drink should have been free, but we were unable to find a server who understood what the special was so ended up paying. Didn't break the bank though, as I mentioned.

One cute touch: the paper tablecloths double as comment cards - the form is stamped on them, and they provide crayons to complete it.

All in all, highly recommended.

Food was quite good & reasonable value though service at evening meal was slow - drinks took ages to come.
