So we stayed here because we saw one couple from our tour group get dropped off here and we still hadn't arranged our accommodations that night. We gave it a go considering that we didn't want to venture far and it was late.
Really not a bad deal for 50 bucks.. Comfy beds there's wifi..
Walls a bit thin and could be noisy when people are getting up but other than that this was a great steal!

We stayed there by default - off the overnight Sapa train and dog tired at 04.30 a.m.! We just walked in and got a decent half day rate of $25 USD. The room was good and the bed very very comfortable compared to most in this parts of Vietnam! The shower was great also, which made for a much better day:-) The only thing that hotel staff shouldn't probably do is get builders to do loud drilling early in the morning near the occupied rooms:-)

Turning up to your hotel and being told that the rooms are fully booked and you would have to stay at their other hotel (a dirty old hotel on the other side of town) is not what I expected when I had booked a month in advance and paid in full.
I stayed elsewhere for one night and then the room was available for the rest of my stay.
The room is old and although they have tried to revamp it by putting in new chairs and new bedding, the room is still old and tired.
The walls are so thin and you hear EVERYTHING from the next room / hallway / lift and the party hostel nextdoor.
Breakfast is what you expect from any cheap hotel in Hanoi although the hot food sits getting cold for the 4 hours with no heating and there are bugs everywhere - Including the cockroach the waiter picked out of the tomato bowl.
I will not stay there again and I would hope that people choose elsewhere so that they dont have to experience what I did!

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel!

this is a perfect place for tourists to enjoy partying, taste variety of food and admire the heritage. Pubs are on still late night in this street. Not recommended for business traveller. Provides Wifi, bf and tour desk available. Overall nice stay

The medallion hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action and centre of Hanoi. It is in walking distance to most things in Hanoi and it is close to restaurants, markets, shopping and bars etc.

The hotel is clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly during our stay. I had been told that the breakfast was only so so but we could not fault it. Plentiful amounts of food, which was fresh and replaced as it was used. The shower was hot and big.

Would I return there yes very much, would I recommend it to others yes very much. Was it good value yes the best value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window as some rooms don't have them, it didn't worry us but our frie...

Great location right in the centre of the old quarter's hustle & bustle a peaceful haven to come back to after experiencing street life.Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable with complimentary coffee, tea & water

Room Tip: High Deluxe rooms @ back are best, no street noise.

The first night we had a room with a window directly across the street from the hotel entrance and this has affected some sleep as the road is very noisy, full of locals, especially in the presence of a hostel right next to the hotel. The room was not very big, but clean and comfortable enough (only flaw was no hair dryer).
