Arriving at the hotel without any expectations, as booked at the airport, we felt from the first moment almost at home in this charming hotel located in the middle of everything. Best of all was , however, the extraordinary friendly and helpful staff, who always met us with a smile and a good advice.

In our recent trip to Hanoi we spent several days at the Medallion Hotel. It is a great location in the old quarter of Hanoi. There were lots of attractions within walking distance or a short taxi ride. The hotel was a good standard with comfortable rooms and facilities. Hot water was an issue at times, but overall not a huge problem. A great buffet breakfast is included. We enjoyed eating in the hotel restaurant. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room which was a comfortable side.

We stayed for 1 night on route to halong bay, room was great with street side balcony, awesome! Bath/shower leaked and bathroom needs work. Staff were pretty friendly across the board. The restaurant however is a joke, breakfast time it was full we had to eat standing and food was ordinary.

That's what it feels like.

After a so-called direct flight with Vietnam Airlines from London to Hanoi [via Frankfurt....!!!] for our third trip to Vietnam to re-discover the vibrance of Hanoi - on our honeymoon/wedding celebration - was just fabulous.

This hotel sitting on Ma May Street in the Old Quarter was yet again fantastic. Both a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle, and just a step outside to the adventure which is Hanoi - arguably the best city in Vietnam - my husband and I love it here.

The hotel as last year was clean and cool. Our second stay in this great wee hotel. Our room, a deluxe as it was a special trip, was spacious and perfectly equipped.

This hotel is a great oasis in the centre of Hanoi. Central for the market, Hoan Kiem Lake, restaurants, street food and life. Will stay here again many times.

Breakfast is as you would expect in any hotel - varied and a bit luke-warm but there is so much food on the streets to chose from this is the only negative.

The staff, whilst not having the best grasp of English, are great - big deal they may not always understand us, that's half the fun trying to communicate with this lovely bunch.

Room Tip: Up-grade if you can - space is tight in the Old Quarter

We stayed for a week this June the room was quite good, apart from being over crowded with furniture, bath room was good, I paid for an upgrade and got it, a room at the very front of the hotel 6th floor we could hear every car horn motor bike horn plus every conversation from every person on Ma MAy st. If you find yourself at the front of the hotel in what ever type room shift tell reception to shift you otherwise you won't get any sleep, we put up with it and went home totally stuffe, apart from that the staff where very helpfull in everyway

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the complex are the quite ones, not the rooms at the front they are for people...

We had 3 different rooms over 3 separate stays, all 3 presented very nice and clean. 1st night we had a very quiet room, we slept like a log, On our 2 returns we got rooms towards the street, these were more noisy, we still slept really well, we found the beds very comfortable.
On our side trips away, the hotel happily stored our suitcase, we were very happy with the whole experience.
