We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for 4 nights recently. We were booked here by a travel agent & knew nothing of the hotel prior to arriving. This is a clean, well appointed smart hotel where the staff go out of the way to make sure your stay is hassle free & enjoyable. Although the rooms are little small they are well thought out with everything a traveller would need, try to stay in room numbers that end in 09, they are a little larger & face the back street so are quieter at night/morning. We look forward to staying here again someday

We had our first two nights here when touring Vietnam. While on the small side, our room was stylish and immaculate. Breakfast was very good and the staff also.
It was well located to stroll to the lake and take in the busy street life. Recommended.

This was my first trip to Hanoi, and instead of choosing to stay in the Sheraton on West Lake, I decided to opt for a hotel in Hoan Kiem, in the centre of Old Hanoi. My travel agent is familiar with Hanoi and recommended the Silk Path as a new 4 star hotel on Hang Bong Street Most of the streets in Old Hanoi specialise in a particular product, and Hang Bong is historically famous for silk and cotton shops, so the hotel is aptly named. The hotel is apparently quite new, about a year and half old, so still looks clean and tidy. From the street it has an imposing frontage with huge marble columns, and a few tables on a raised patio, which was a nice place for watching the rich tapestry of life passing by the front of the hotel. The lobby isn't large but has comfortable furniture - something overlooked by many smaller hotels.
The hotel is about 10 floors, with a very small gym, and a small jacuzzi pool oddly located on the top floor. They have a bar and Vietnamese restaurant on the ground floor, and breakfast is served in their Bellissimo restaurant on the 1st floor - complete with traditional pizza oven and sporting an amazing mish-mash of decorating styles. There is also a piano bar on the first floor, overlooking the lobby area. I found the breakfast buffet to be good - and apparently complimentary.
I had an executive room, which was small but very tastefully decorated and even came with a small lounge, like a junior suite. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. The bathroom was marble, with a large bath, walk in separate glass shower with excellent pressure rainforest showerhead and nice toiletries. My room was on the front of the hotel on the 7th floor. It thankfully came with large windows and a balcony, and no road noise at all. It appears though that some rooms have outward facing windows while others face very small skylight atriums which would certainly be less appealing. My bed was very comfortable and did appear to be a queen bed, not two singles pushed together as some guests have noted. The room had a large flat screen TV, room safe, electric curtains, etc, room service etc, although there was no iron in the room, and not long after I got one delivered to me, a housekeeper arrived asking for it back as soon as I was finished with it. Housekeeping came very quickly whenever I called. Wifi internet was complimentary, fast and consistent in the executive rooms, but I there was also free internet in their "business centre" terminals on the2nd floor.
The hotel location is excellent, with lots of beautiful silk shops close by, along with myriads of small hole in the walls selling all manner of items. A number of very good restaurants and more exclusive upmarket shopping is also located 5 minutes away in Hoan Kiem on the opposite side of the small Hoan Kiem Lake. Taxis were extremely easy to get, although you should make a habit of requesting MaiLinh taxis, who are very reputable.
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation as a perfectly reasonable place to stay, right in the thick of the old city, and only a short distance from everywhere.

Room Tip: Exterior facing (with view) on higher floors

nice location. very clean inside and outside, a brand new hotel with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment (e.g. OTIS see-through voice-assisted elevators). the room was just the right size and very clean, all facilities in good order, staff very friendly and speaks good English. Buffet breakfast was on par with a 5-star hotel. Highly recommend this hotel

We had a very nice stay at the Silk Path! The hotel itself is located a bit away from the old quarter, but is basically directly between that area and the Ho Chi Minh museum/mausoleum, so it's central to tourist-like activities. We walked to the lake during the day, and took cabs when we went to dinner at night.

The facilities are 4-star, maybe 4.5. We stayed in two rooms across two nights, and I can say that the executive suite was pretty great. The standard room was on the small side, and being on the 2nd floor, we heard a lot of overflow noise through the atrium from the restaurant below. So, I would say to insist on a floor higher than 2 or 3. Both of our rooms had the lovely view of a cement wall. If view is important to you, either make sure you get a good one, or stay elsewhere.

I would like to comment specifically on the warm service we received here. We booked an overnight trip to Halon Bay in the middle of our stay, and the staff was very great about keeping our luggage safe. We were also able to use the spa area to shower/change after checkout, since our flight was late at night. That was a real plus! A very nice man named Trong brought our luggage to and from that area, and was also very helpful in arranging reliable car service to the airport, including making sure we had exact change to give to the driver before heading off. Thanks, Trong!

Overall, this is a very nice, modern, clean hotel, with a few hiccups for those who might value a view, a large room, or need to right in the middle of the old neighborhood. Otherwise, it was a great home base highlighted by a really wonderful staff. Recommend.

Silk Path Hotel is a newer hotel, with all hitech facilites (electric blinds etc). Rooms are compact, and whilst our side room looked onto a concrete wall, it was quiet.
The hotel has changed how the 2 restaurants are used (now ground floor restaurant serves both mediterian & vietnamese cuisines and the first floor restauanrt only used for breakfast). Many of the signs & pamplets reflect otherwise... So confusing.
Staff were helpful, friendly & attentive.
