Hotel is located on West Lake, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. On first entry, my wife and I got a room without windows and a strong smoky smell. We paid a few dollars more to have a room with a window, and without the smoke smells. Breakfast is adequate, nothing special but no complaints.
Location is away from the tourist sections, but still plenty of shops to browse a short walk away. We found that many foreigners lived in this area, all very friendly, and certainly know how to enjoy the night life. Many different restaurants catering to all tastes, example: Japanese, Italian, Mexican and American.
Hanoi International airport is approx 30 minutes from the hotel. The hotel organized at taxi for 0600 and it was there waiting for us when we came down to the lobby.

Room Tip: Lake view apartments are the best but beware, very limited. We had a river view apartment but I didn...

I stayed at the Paloma in October 20012 with my family. We had three large double rooms all spotlessly clean. There was free bottled water and a bowl of fresh fruit put in the rooms every day. The food was good and the staff could not have been nicer, nothing was too much trouble. The local swimming pool is a 5 minute walk away. Although not in town centre the local taxis are cheap. I would recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with small children.

Room Tip: front rooms have lake views .

I stay on July 2013, the room is spacious although it was not a luxury room, but they have all the basic standard hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull.
I spent 3 nights there with lake view, it is georgeous, in the morning you can see the people fishing, in the night you can see the city with the lake.. very nice view and not too expensive room.
The breakfast was OK consider it is 3 stars hotel. But the view from the restaurant facing the dam behind the hotel and it was dirty dam, and I think the management could relocate the restaurant, maybe in the top of the building, it would be great. The waiter of the restaurant was friendly eventhough their english is far below standard.
The location is a little bit far from business area, but it has a gpood view of lake.
Overall, if you have tight budget and looking for the nice and tidy hotel, this is a good place to transit.

I spent 4 nights here during my 8 days in Hanoi and I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. My friend lives down the street, so it was a good location for me. The location is rather far from the old quarter and most of the tourist attractions, so it may not be the best place for some travelers; especially those who are short on time. The view from the front of the hotel is very nice, but I found the view from the breakfast area to be very beautiful. The breakfast was surprisingly tasty too. My room was very clean and looked pretty good, but it did lack a window. The staff were very nice and a couple of them spoke good English.

My sister and I recently stayed at this hotel. The package trip was made far more enjoyable by the reasonable price and professional service we received at the hotel. All staffs were eager to serve and we were always greeted with a big smile and a cup of cold water. I will definitely recommend this hotel to any friends or acquaintances that may be traveling to Hanoi. The service combined with the pricing made the Good. Hotel, but i still have a single suggestion that which may improve the guest's stay in the future if staffs of restaurant on the Second Floor don't make noise in the every. We will see you again. Thanks you very much.

Staff are friendly, helpful and genuine. The rooms at the front have great views across the lake, with floor to ceiling glazing. however this does mean you will hear the traffic below. There's plenty of rooms at the back if you prefer it quiet. Although a quiet room is fairly hard to find anywhere in Vietnam! The hotel restaurant is great, overlooking a peaceful water meadow/paddy. There are also several options for restaurants and cafes nearby. would recommend

Room Tip: 401 and 501 have a good view of the lake. Ask for rooms at the rear if you want quieter.

We booked this hotel according to the Lonely Planet guide but found that it was too far from the city centre. We checked out after one night and stayed at the city centre instead. We found Paloma to be overpriced for the location and what the hotel offered. $85 for the Lakeview room (room 501). $25 for one-way pick-up from the airport to the hotel. Polite and friendly staff. Very loud (on high traffic street with poor sound-proofing).
