Went there after my hostel recommended it. Thank god! Had the eggplant on claypot, the best spring rolls in Vietnam so far, papaya salad, everything was so good. Didn't like the tofu in tomato sauce, not too much flavor. The staff is fast and cheerful despite the restaurant being busy all the time! Great value for money. Eat there 3 times during my stay in Hanoi and would return any day!

Have very fond memories of sitting street side here having my first Vietnamese meal. Be a bit adventurous and enjoy some fabulous food food. I still think about the sesame and honey beef. Friendly quick service, wonderful chaotic atmosphere, and so affordable too! What's not to like?

Myself and family went to new day in August after reading good reviews on trip advisor.
This is an extremely busy place with both locals / ex pats and tourist eating here.
Myself and wife went for the set menu which was extremely good value for money and also good food. My two young daughters went for beef noodles and a rice dish which again was good food.
My main problem was they were so busy that you felt that you were being rushed. I had nearly finished one of my dishes, when i started to help one of my daughters with the chopsticks, the next minute my dish had be taken away so quick I did not see the member of staff who did this. This then nearly happened to my wife within 5 minutes who again was helping my other daughter, until I stopped the member of staff taking my wife dish away.
We normally are quite quick eaters anyway and we just felt that this slightly spoiled the occasion.
Having said that the food and drinks were great and quite cheap, maybe we just came at the wrong time.
The location is right in the heart of the old quarter.

Set menu of 5 courses for £5 a head and the food is amazing. You sit on plastic chairs on the pavement and enjoy the best food in Hanoi.

The food here is simply amazing. The prices mean that even on a budget you can go here, and you won't regret it. I usually have the "chicken with hot spicy" (their name, not mine) and it is absolutely delicious. Add to the mix some amazing staff, and you've got yourself a winner!
