“Very good hotel, friendly staff, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2010

I was pleased at the Gia Bao hotel Grand, very good hotel, with nice rooms spacious as well and great buffet breakfast honestly I have seen better buffet breakfast, Location is good, as the hotel is shortly directly connected to Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quanter .Service is very attentive. The room was spacious and elegantly appointed, the bed very comfortable.Staff were very friendly and fluent in English. They work very professional. I appreciate the hotel when staying in Hanoi.

Booked this Hotel based on location and reviews and expected it to be better than the Gia Boa Hotel in same street.- not so. Booked premium rate for the 'Presidential' suite for our last 3 days in Vietnam and bathroom was horrible, - definately not the one shown on the website, no way could you have a spa - big, wierd & very old set up, no seperate bath and shower. Housekeeping very disapointing, doona cover dirty, had to ask for towels on arrival, the promised 2 bottles of water not received 2nd day, dirty dishes not replaced, generally not very clean. I wanted to check out for Hotel Elegance but decided to stay as we were out all day long & seemed too much hassle. Had a very good free business centre for internet use. Worst Hotel breakfast ever, food not replaced when empty, juice was watery cordial always low & sometimes ran out, ordered eggs were good though. Hotel staff were very friendly although reception gave us 2 incorrect restaurant addressses, called in to Gia Boa nearer to the lake & they looked up correct addresses on the internet for us.

we really enjoyed our recent 4 night stay in a VIP room... the room was huge... the staff wonderful.... but best was its location and affordability...

we also stayed at the gia boa which is older and less fancy, but still very nice...

My first impression is the staff in Gia Bao Hotel. They are really friendly and warmly when welcoming us, in addition They are willing to help when we needed. I am most impressed with Ms. Thu working at the reception desk. I appreciate the attitude of staff. Other services that hotels provide also makes me very impressed: clean rooms, new and modern facilities, delicious breakfasts ... I booked a tour through Vietnam Phoenix Tour and they arranged for us staying in this hotel, Gia Bao hotel is better than what I expected. If I have a chance traveling to Hanoi, I will choose this hotel.

After touring thru Vietnam this was our last stop. Great hotel ! We stayed in the VIP room which was fantastic. 2 Plasma TV's, large lounge area , double spa bath , King Sized Comfortable Bed. There was a festival on during our stay... chaos on the streets but our room was very quiet. Breakfast was excellant ! 2 blocks from the lake and walking distance to shopping, restaurants etc. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. Nothing was a problem. Wished we could have stayed longer !!!

This was a great little hotel in the heart of the city. Close to everything. Very clean, neat rooms and hotel staff very polite and extremely helpful. Good breakfast included in the price. I would stay here again for sure. Free internet too!! I expected less for the price i paid. highly recommended!!
