“Value for Money”

We had a terrible stay in one of the hotels in the French Qtr but this one was totally the opposite, Our train arrived from Sapa and our transfer lady took is to this hotel and they let us in at 5am and not only that they made sure that we had breakfast. They all spoke very good english which made a difference. Will recommend this one to all my friends and family.

We stayed 3 nights at La Dolce Vita in March and loved every minute of it. I booked directly with the hotel and the reservation staff were really helpful and efficient. When we arrived we were escorted to our room which was spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a large balcony and it was really good to be able to open the doors to the street life down below - I think only some rooms have a balcony. The location was fantastic too. All the staff were great, looking after all our needs. The breakfasts were good, the bar staff were great, there were always quite a few people socialising and relaxing in the lounge area during the day and evening so the atmosphere was really friendly. I highly recommend anyone to stay here based on our experience.

We stayed here 3 nights at the end of two weeks in Vietnam. Great location for old quarter. We stayed in a Delux room with a balcony at the front. It is a big room with heaps of light. View is over the street and old buildings(Not much but better than looking at a wall). They have recently sound proofed the windows and doors that face the street, ie added extra set of windows and doors that must be laminated glass. You cannot hear any noise from the street in the room. The room was clean and tidy. Yes the doors do have cracks but so what? I personally would not stay in the other room that face into a light well. They looked ok but I need a view of some description.
The food at breakfast is not the best. They have a buffet with a limited selection and it is not replenished fast enough. The croissants are stale and cut into small pieces. They do cook fresh eggs and omlettes.
By the way the best shopping for clothes is in Saigon Markets and Shopping centres. Hanoi does not have the same range and variety of sizes and they do not barter easily. The Hanoi markets are rubbish and mainly for bulk buyers. There is a night street market on the weekend near the hotel but still nothing great. Shop in Saigon.

Stayed 2 nights at La Dolce Vita towards the end of a very busy 2 weeks in Vietnam. Was presently surprised that it lived up to the good reviews and was really good value for the rate.

Having stayed in a lot of hotels I would definitely put this at a 3.5 star facility rather than just 3 star. The rooms are a decent size as are the bathrooms. It has room service and a good minibar and a good selection of channels on the large LCD TV.

Location is also very good being right in the middle of the Old Quarter.

We stayed at this hotel one night, as we got into Hanoi late in the evening. Checked out and went to the Imperial. Similar price and location, but in much better shape. La Dolce Vita needs to touch up its rooms and hallways.

I stayed here for several days, and enjoyed it. It's not a fancy hotel, but the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and responsive. I was happy with the in room wi-fi, but the elevator definitely makes too much noise, so I had to ask them to move me to a room further away. The street is a busy one, but I didn't find it that noisy, and it was nicely located in the old quarter. It doesn't appear well known, so taxis often had a hard time finding it.

If you want a friendly, reliable, clean room in the heart of the old quarter, this is a good bet. Don't expect anything too fancy, but definitely a nice, comfortable hotel.
