My husband and I recently stayed at the La Dolce Vita Hotel in Hanoi and found this hotel to be pleasant. The room we had on level 2 did not have an external window. the room was a reasonable size and the decor was okay. We found the room to be in a quiet location. I would avoid rooms at the front of the hotel as I feel these may be noisy. Hotel location is excellent and I feel this is what makes this a good choice as it is right in the middle of the Old Quarter and a 10 walk to the lake. Staff were excellent and shared their local knowledge with you. at the reception you can collect a map and it has recommended restaurants, taxi services, shopping areas etc. we ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night and the food was just okay. We were the only ones dining and during our 4 night stay we did not see any other diners so would recommend other evening meal and we really enjoyed the Hanoi Garden Restaurant - Vietnamese Western Style. Breakfast was okay and offered a medium range of choices. Service could not be faulted and they held our luggage while we had overnight says in Halong Bay and Sapa. Overall a great hotel but we would recommend eating out as the food is only average. The hotel provides you with a quiet and relaxing haven to escape the bustling city of Hanoi.

Room Tip: I would say the front rooms would be noisy. We had room on level 2 in the centre of hotel and it was fairly quiet.

Stayed at this quaint little hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. It is very central and the staff are very helpful in all aspects. The rooms are cosy and the breakfast buffet is perfect. You can safely leave luggage there and head off to Halong Bay for a few days.
The streets are bustling outside and it is a perfect location to see hanoi

Room Tip: Leaving luggage at the hotel whilst you head off to Halong Bay is very reliable and safe

8 million people, 5 million motorbikes and this 3 or 3.5 star hotel is right in the middle of it all in the Old Quarter which, I believe, was built up prior to the 30's Great Depression.
You're on the doorstep of the 36 Streets and there is constant movement and noise in a city that rises early, goes to bed late and is always on the go, no matter the weather. Having said that we didn't feel that noise was an issue during our stay at this hotel, in fact it was pretty quiet once we got inside the front door.
My son and I stayed only in 3 or 3.5 star hotels throughout our trip and this hotel was typical of what we experienced.
It's very well maintained, has a generous bar and lounge area downstairs and dining room to the rear.
Rooms are compact but not claustrophobic. There was clean linen as well as the room being cleaned every day.
The food was excellent. A great menu to choose from; food was fresh and it was cheap.
There s free wifi throughout whether you are in the bar or your room.
We changed our travel plans after arrival and the staff were very accommodating in helping us in this then storing luggage while we left for a couple of days at a time.
All in all the hospitality staff we encountered in Vietnam were very service oriented and LDV staff were no different. It was a great introduction to our first taste of Vietnam.
It even has a couple of Aussie shift managers which made communication very easy.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Have fun! I'm sure you will.

great location, very clean, nice food, quiet considering the location and great service. The staff were very pleasant. We too stayed here as part of a package with Emeraude cruises and really cannot fault it except the WiFi wasnt very good in the room we were in however everything else was great. Thank your for a very pleasant stay

Room Tip: if you want WiFi ask for a room with good good service

We had two nights at La Dolce Vita and enjoyed our stay very much. The excellent location in Hanoi's old quarter gives easy access to lots of restaurants, shopping, attractions. The hotel is in the typical Hanoi build: small house front with atrium and partly internal courtyard windows. The rooms and bathrooms are generous, beds comfortable, toiletries are provided. Breakfast consist of a buffet with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and cooked Asian selections. Eggs are cooked to order any style. The restaurant offers mainly pizza - so we did not try it.
